International Hotel near Derby: Derby Hotels

Good Points: room was very clean and tidy. reception staff was very helpfull. ample carparking.
Bad Points: nets and curtains, were very tatty,the jacuzzi bath was working but very noisy, lack of hot water when taking bath.pricey room service

Good Points: Convenient hotel with parking and good room with wi fi
Bad Points: Stair way and hallway of hotel badly need redoration
Further Comments: No Problems. Hotel has improved over the last 12 months with new decor in the bedrooms

Good Points: felt the hotel was very nice staff friendly and helpful, room clean and a good size overall very pleased.
Bad Points: had a meal in the main restaurant it was understaffed and found the food was not of a very good standard. my husband had ordered the mixed grill to be cooked medium rare, when it arrived it was far from being that, it was cooked to a crisp even the mushroom on the plate was hard dried and lost all moister. we did inform the waitress who just said "o" took the uneaten plate of food away and nothing more was said (not even an apology), when we asked for the bill we then had to wait 15mins for another member of staff to ask why we were waiting. when paying nearly ￂﾣ50 for a meal which we had no alcoholic drinks with we expected at least the food to arrive as ordered. we feel that this should be look into and even the staffing levels to be addressed to have two members of staff to wait on and do the bar is clearly not enough on a Saturday night.
Further Comments: we enjoyed the hotel and found it very good value for money we would stay again.

Good Points: Breakfast good, reasonable price, good location
Bad Points: Room was very hot and very noisy at night as there was a disco right below our room and we were not told about this when we booked or checked in.
Further Comments: Ok for price, but a word about the disco- or moving us to a higher room would have been good

Good Points: The waiting staff in the bar & restaurant were very good - polite and helpful. The lady who checked me out of the hotel the morning I left was also very friendly and helpful.
Bad Points: The check-in staff on the Thursday evening were more interested in their own conversation than helping me to check in. I was given a room key but not the accompanying key card needed to charge meals to my room which meant another wait at reception to obtain this.
Further Comments: Food was very good and value for money - breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable but bathroom in need of updating.

Good Points: The food and staff were excellent.
Further Comments: The hotel is good value for money. It is not the best presented hotel but nothing that a style guru and a handyman couldn't fix. The staff were excellent and very friendly. The food was absolutely superb. Well placed near city centre but the car parking can be a bit tight if arriving late.

Good Points: Have stayed before and will return. Very clean and tidy room. Good facilities and the refurbished restaurant is very pleasant. Breakfast excellent.
Further Comments: This is a comfortable hotel near to the town centre. Always kept in good condition and the recent refurbishment is very welcome.

Good Points: It was clean and fresh with a good power shower and a good breakfast
Bad Points: The restaurant was very quite with no atmosphere, another point to mention (not your fault) the earth quake woke me up!
Further Comments: I thought the hotel was very good value for money and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others,as i was only there for one night i cannot comment on the quality of a lenghty stay

Good Points: Hotel seems to have been slightly upgraded and better than previous stays. Good clean accommodation for an overnight stay.
Bad Points: Structure of building i.e. door panels etc old and wobbly
Further Comments: For a basic stay this hotel is ok. Room quite roomy and everything worked apart from the fact the main building is old and door didnt fit very well. Clean and functional though. Rooms at the front can be a bit noisy.
