Good Points: car park.
Bad Points: Very hard to find
Further Comments: Ok if you are on a budget. Friendly staff, room large but shabby, as was bathroom. I would use again if I was paying but not smart enough if with others for business.

Good Points: Adequate sized room with tea/coffee facilities, good location
Bad Points: Shower did not work, light above basin did not work, door did not firmly shut, the film services via the tv did not work for us or anyone at the hotel that night, general appearance of hotel inside was tired.
Further Comments: Good value for money, adequate, but could improve considerably by fresh/better decor and full working facilities(see above)

Good Points: location
Bad Points: rather worn out and dirty windows and frames inside and out
Further Comments: disappointed with restaurant. 9.30pm close time, I arrived at 9.20pm on 5th June after sitting a 3 hour law paper at Northumbria University. To be told, its too late for a special but will have to check with the chef - I did get meal but it seemed like a lot of trouble. Hello, who is the customer here?!

Good Points: comfy room, close to town which was very handy as we do not come from that area, so everything of interest to us was in walking distance.
Bad Points: Bathroom in desperate need of refurbishing! Also windows and curtains in bedroom were looking 'tatty', could do with replacing. Also was not keen on breakfast didnt keep very warm.
Further Comments: Overall the stay in quality hotel was a pleasant stay, the hotel is in walking distance to all things we enjoyed such as cinema, shops and resturaunts, the night was farely noisy as its so close to pubs, however this didnt really bother us as it was expected! The bathroom was certainly in need of refurbishing, tiles looked grubby and bath mat old. The bedroom windows and curtains could do with replacing too, one thing i noticed as we pulled up in car park! Car park was slightly hard to find as we arrived but this is proberly as had no clue where we were! nice safe secure parking above ground level which was good.We wernt too keen on the breakfast, not a great deal available and didnt keep hot, slightly overpriced.

Good Points: proximity to the city center
Bad Points: very noisy and one or two improvements could be made to the overall look and feel of the hotel
Further Comments: not brilliant value for money i felt that the hotel was rather shaby and that there is great room for improvement regarding the interior decor not only in the rooms but in general,on a brighter note the hotel is situated very nicely for all locl facilities

Good Points: Very convenient location in the city centre. Friendly personnel, clean room, nice breakfast.
Bad Points: Not so convenient to climb the steps to the second floor with suitcases.
| Further Comments: The main purpose of our visit was to attend the Newcastle University Open Days. It determined the choice of the hotel, that had to be within the walking distance to the University. We came by plane from London, and it was very easy and inexpensive to get to the city by Metro, and to find the hotel.
We spent 3 nights in the hotel and it perfectly met our needs.
Best regards to the personnel!

Good Points: central location
Bad Points: general areas very drab
| Further Comments: The cleanliness and decor of the bedroom was adequate but the general areas were very drab particularly the bar/lounge area.
The restaurant was extremely poor both with the food and service at breakfast. Shortage of staff was obvious. The staff appeared to have had no training in setting up and waiting on tables and had to be asked constantly for cups, spoons etc. The breakfast buffet was cold and we had to ask for it to be warmed up in the microwave. |
