Good Points: Clean and tidy. The complementary orange and water was a very good touch.
Bad Points: The shower was a hand hold thing attached to the taps. Other hotels with the same tariff have purpose built shower in the bath.
Further Comments: It was a pleasant stay the staff were good and the room was fine other than the shower. TV was limited to the normal channels. If I had to stay longer than the time I did it would be an issue.

Further Comments: my boyfriend wanted to stay at this hotel because he stayed there 10 years ago and said the room was lovely we were both disapointed on the room we had i also requested smoking and did not get this

Good Points: Its nice and simple, old and modern at the same time its a nice mix. Staff are very helpful and everything went smoothly with no worries.
Further Comments: Map was alittle unclear on the website but i think thats because of the resolution of my PC screen! apart from that we found everything fine with the help of staff, directions from train station to hotel should just be turn left when you get out the train station and walk strait on! Its pretty much right there not even a 30second walk which is realy handy when u've got alot of bags! and then its only about 10mins to the center of town from the hotel so you dont realy need to worry about transport either. All in all its a great location and a nice hotel, when i go back to Newcastle i'll defently stay in the same hotel if not because its nice then because its a handy area to be in.

Bad Points: Map of town in room - useful local knowledge or at least in central foyer a large map showing how to get around lighting in rooms was abysmal could not read.
Further Comments: Position of Hotel in relation to airport railway transport How much food would cost inside hotel.

Further Comments: I would have liked to have known breakfast wasn't included in the price. I can't remember seeing it was room only when I booked the two rooms.Other than that the Hotel was fine.

Further Comments: I had specified a non-smoking room. The first room I was given was shabbily decorated and had a large ashtray. Also the television did not work. I went back to Reception to complain. The girl said it was a non-smoking room despite the fact that it had an ashtray. Luckily, as I had also complained about the television, she moved me to another room. This time there was no ashtray. The new room was at the far end of a corridor which smelt of new paint. This time, the reception was poor on BBC1 although the other channels worked. After I had unpacked, I realised that the chain on the inside of the door was broken and the secondary lock

Good Points: very nice hotel ,the room we saw first was non smoking ,but when we asked for a smoking we felt we were down graded and it put the hotel to shame from we had seen of it .
Bad Points: the room which we stayed ,felt was a cheap room for wat we paid yet 204 room,yet we first were shown 403 which was wonderful it made us fell we were put down because we smoke which was a shame.
Further Comments: we would to have liked to have know that we wouldnt be made to feel equal because we smoked ,we caused no damage to property,yet the room was not to hotel standard which we were shown in pictures.staff very nice hotel was clean except our room behind head boards with dust collection on floor,im sure you urself if you take a look will appriciate that we wernt happy .we enjoyed our stay around new castle,and every thing else was exellant.

Good Points: The location of the hotel is perfect. The staff were friendly and the food was adequate.

Bad Points: I think all rooms should offer double beds, ironing faciltiy and clothes press as a minimum standard. the television reception was very poor
Further Comments: During my last stay the single room accomodation was exceptionally small and was next to the lift machinary. I travell nationally and internationally on regular basis and found the hotels rooms clean but of a poor standard compared to the new hotels in newcastle. the reception staff on duty were all very helpful and efficent. My colleague who stayed in the hotel is of the same opionion.

Good Points: The reception area, restaurant and bar are excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful with a quick but friendly arrival and departure service. The leisure facilites are also very good. The main bonus is the hotel location, pretty much right in the centre of the town with easy access to nightlife / restaurants.
Bad Points: The rooms were adequate, if a little dated - all room amenities were in working order and clean.
Further Comments: Overall it was an enjoyable stay - we went specifically for a stag night so the hotel was used purely as a place to sleep after a hectic day/night out! All the staff were helpful and friendly and we had no problems whatsoever. Purely on location I would stay in the hotel again as it offers good value for money.

Further Comments: Use this hotel if you like to feel like you are living in the 70s, like a damp musty smell and dont mind damp patches on the wall. Avoid at all costs!

Bad Points: Car parking situation is ridiculous. I would strongly recommend agreeing a deal with the station car park, particularly at weekends when it is vitually empty.
Further Comments: The room was worn out and tired, the temperature was outrageously hot and we had to sleep with the window open all night. The shower head leaked which meant we had to take showers at very low pressure to avoid flooding the bathroom. It was impossible to sleep from 6.30am as the noise from the floorboards above was very loud. Staff didn't really seem to care to ask how our stay had been.

Good Points: I liked the interior of the hotel. I enjoyed the facilities of leisure centre particularly swimming pool early in the morning before the activities of the day. Also, there were other than tea and coffee drinks provided in the room, everything nice and clean. Staff at the breakfast amazingly helpful.
Bad Points: Person at the reception at the leisure centre could a little more frienldly.
Further Comments: Nice interior, nicely reflects the name of the Royal Station Hotel, good leisure facilities free of charge for the guests, everything clean. I think that they are aiming at good standard.
