| Bad Points:
For a supposedly standard room it was extremely small. This being the case would have hated to have booked a small room. |

| Good Points: The comfort and luxury of the furniture and furnishings. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff at all levels, nothing was too much trouble. |
| Bad Points: Nothing |
| Further Comments: Warm and welcoming reception from staff. From arrival to departure every need was catered for by friendly attentive staff. It was an oasis of tranquility which allowed one to begin each day refreshed. The full Scottish breakfast was delicious and well-presented, but the stewed coffee disappointed. |

| Good Points: Helpfulness of staff and hotel location. |
| Bad Points: No car parking arrangements and room on top floor - no lifts! |
| Further Comments: Would like to have known about lack of lift and being on top floor. also thought that hotel had adjacent restaurant, which it used to have. However, staff were very willing to help with luggage. |

| Good Points: It was generally nice although I think there could have been more storage space for clothes... especially drawer space. |
| Bad Points: I don't like the fact that the towel rails are placed right by the toilet. I aoso think you should take up the option of not having towels replaced every day as some hotel chains do. People are becoming more environmentally aware of this type of thing. |
| Further Comments: Your online booking system says you cannot guarantee a non-smoking room. I almost didn't book because I couldn't be guaranteed a non-smoking room. However, when I rang to ask about this, your receptionist told me it is a non-smoking hotel!
That said, we really liked the hotel very much indeed. |

| Further Comments: The Christopher North House Hotel is a small, hotel which has the advantage of being relatively secluded but is still only a short walk from the centre of Edinburgh. It is elegantly furnished and decorated and the staff were welcoming and always very pleasant. Our room was cleaned efficiently and we have nothing but the highest commendation for the general standards within the hotel.
Breakfast is a problem because the dining room is small but the staff try to deal with this as efficiently as possible and although we had some minor problems in getting exactly what we had ordered, these were always corrected on request. |

| Good Points: Decor, the ambience of the hotel, the staff |
| Bad Points: Nothing |
| Further Comments: I should have paid attention to the lack of lift, but with the staff assistance, the stairs weren't much of a problem. The staff was very accommodating, the rooms luxurious, if a bit small, and the main rooms were very nice as well. We had to leave early for the airport, so missed breakfast, but it looked lovely. |

| Good Points: Clean, friendly staffs |
| Bad Points: Very old building, small and a limited number of rooms. |
| Further Comments: We expected modern and bigger facilities. However, this hotel would be suitable for those who want a quiet, out of the beaten path and a family-run atmosphere. |

| Good Points: location was excellent-only a 10 minute walk to Princes Street |
| Further Comments: room was large enough for 3 people,it was not just a camp bed crammed into a corner. It was very clean and the hotel staff were very friendly.I was running in the Edinburgh Marathon on the Sunday and breakfast wasn't supposed to start until 8 am but the hotel staff prepared breakfast for us at 6.30 am. |
