| Good Points: i thought the hotel was extremely clean and the staff were very polite. In particular, the reception staff were very professional and most courteous. |
| Bad Points: There were two things that irritated me as both were easily avoidable.
1) The lunch / bar area was very badly staffed, resulting in a number of mistakes being made with customer orders etc, resulting in an air of disorganisation, which was most apparent to guests. Suggestion: someone needs to be waiting on tables and walking the floor with no responsibility for what's going on behind the bar.
2) The TV was not tuned in correctly ie the channel set up detailed in the welcome pack did not correspond to the channels that were actually available on the TV (eg BBC news 24 on 2 channels etc). There was no means of manually tuning in the TV. |
| Further Comments: Hotel very nice, some issues to resolve. Will return if these can be dealt with. |

| Good Points: The view, the Connoisseur Suite |
| Bad Points: The decor was rather tired - very 1980s
The windows were filthy |
| Further Comments: The position is good, view from the room splendid, pleasant and helpful staff, convenient parking, sheets etc fine.
Decor was rather tired - definitely 1980s - and furniture in need of a makeover. Thw windows were really dirty and a dirty shelf obscured what was a lovely view from window |

| Good Points: Good location for the city and quayside. Great view |
| Bad Points: Air con pathetic, shower not good, mini bar empty. Bar smelt of sick |
| Further Comments: The main fault was the air con which despite being on the coldest setting, made little difference. This made it a very hot night which made sleeping difficult. We stay in Newcastle regularly and this was our first try here. Also the breakfast was luke warm.We will not be back. |

| Good Points: Comfortable and clean with excellent views. |
| Bad Points: Non working internet keyboard, (batteries missing!) this is an excellent facility which should have been tested and worked fine once I pinched some batteries from another appliance of my own. |
| Further Comments: Overall an excellent choice with superb quality accommodation. A very comfortable bed, pool and leisure facilities, free car park, lovely views plus convenient location made this an ideal choice for us. The food was superb and only let down by an unacceptable delay in serving, due to staff shortages on the particular day in question I understand. |

| Good Points: Lovely room overlooking the Tyne and in view of the famous bridge |
| Bad Points: Sunday morning breakfast - some items not available. Although the hotel was busy all advertised items should be available at a hotel of this category. |
| Further Comments: An excellent weekend break. Both my wife thoroughly enjoyed staying at The Copthorne and plan to stay there again in the future. The room was spacious and quiet with a lovely view over the Tyne.
The staff were very helpful. |

| Good Points: Excellently presented fully fitted rooms, comfortable king size bed and good staff service with a smile. |
| Bad Points: Nothing. I had previously read of problems with train noise in certain areas of the hotel. I was not troubled by the level of this external factor. Driving to the hotel (free) car park was a little confusing due to the extent of building work ongoing (by others) at the rear of the hotel with some road closures in place. |
| Further Comments: Unexpected complimentary upgrade to 5th floor Executive room with use of private lounge, free continental breakfast (or ᅡᆪ10 set charge for English) provided that extra added value. Harry's Bar was friendly and widely stocked with a full range. Chose to make use of room-service for evening meal and this was served quickly with food arriving freash and hot. A good breakfast range with friendly efficient service. Totally recommended. |

| Good Points: Warm, spacious & comfortable |
| Bad Points: Nothing (apart from having to leave) |
| Further Comments: This was my second stay at this hotel and once again wasn't disappointed.
The staff were as warm & friendly as I remembered them to be and the hotel as comfortable. Excellent from the original booking to the final checkout.
Once again I took my dog along with me and he was treated like a king.
Congratulations on the Christmas tree and reception area - wonderful atmosphere to come into. |

| Good Points: Its closeness to the queyside and easy access to the town center and free car parking |
| Bad Points: starting to look a bit shabby bathroom shower didnt work properly and quality of bathroom products poor |
| Further Comments: We deliberatly booked a conisoure room as we have done in the past only to find we were put on the first floor not 5th where the private lounge was. we were extreamly dissapointed to find out that the drinks and canapays were no longer avalible. We were also disappointed to find no clean cups avalibe in the lounge for coffee. We will be visiting Newcastle again in the new year but are considering staying at the hilton or the malmason next time as a lot of the frills seem to have gone and this made our stay special. |

| Good Points: The hotel was in a good location with views of the river and easy to walk to the centre of Newcastle. |
| Bad Points: Some of the gym equipment wasn't working properly and the room service was a bit slow. |
| Further Comments: Overall we thought the hotel was good value for money. The view of the river from our room enhanced the enjoyment of our stay and the public areas were all of good quality. The hotel was in an excellent location being only a 10/15 minute walk from the Metro Radio Arena and it was also easy to reach the centre of Newcastle. We were very impressed with Newcastle as a whole and found the people to be very welcoming. |

| Good Points: Spacious, clean and a bit different |
| Bad Points: Lack of info re Internet access, laptop keyboard hard to use and insufficient information as to how to use it. |
| Further Comments: As above. Quick reponse to keyboard issue but practically had to hold the damned thing up to the TV to get it to work! No information on minibar contents or prices. Fortunately taken on trust as to what had been consumed although minibar looked to be not fully stocked. Connoisseur Room was disappointingly poorly stocked late in the evening having clearly been 'raided' earlier! At that time there wasn't even a bin for disposing of sugar wrappers etc., never mind fruit ot juice. Breakfast was surprisingly fine having been disappointed the night before. Feel there should be more written info in the room, not just for the hotel but for other things around your fine city. No info available on the TV. All the road works around the hotel unfortunately rendered the directions offered redundant. Could have been more info re restaurant menus and prices. Despite the grouses, a good hotel and enjoyed the stay. The little contact we had with staff was excellent. Would stay again. |
