Bad Points: The damp smell,the walpaper peeling off the wall,no kettle in my room,shower room was tiny.Beakfast barely edible.
Further Comments: I feel the pictures in the internet are misleading,the hotel is not clean and is in great need of repair.The hotos were likly from years ago before hotel became run down.

Good Points: good position,near shopping,transporting and sight-seeing
Bad Points: high price,old facility,bad TV,low roof to hit head,too old bed.
Further Comments: This hotel is not in good maintainance,need innovation of the facilities,esp. the TV,closet and bed.

Good Points: The location was perfect. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the food was good.
Bad Points: I only discovered at 6.30am that there was no kettle! I also had lots of insect bites on my legs. It would help to have a sign at the bottom of the stairs at the entrance to tell you where to go. It was offputting to open the door to an unlabelled building and be greeted by a flight of stairs. It would help to have something up to say that reception was at the top of the stairs. Maybe this is more obvious when the front of the building is scaffold free.
Further Comments: It was not easy to spot the hotel as there was scaffolding on the front of the building (I realise this was temporary) and no label on the door. The receptionist was not very friendly (may be a language issue) - but the other staff at breakfast were great. The room was comfortable and it was lovely to have an ensuite bathroom at that price. Breakfast was great - good choice of food and friendly staff. The big advantage of this hotel is its central position. It took a few minutes to get there from the station and there was easy access to the centre of town.

Good Points: Cheapness & central location. Scottish breakfast
Bad Points: General shabbiness of room. Light in bathroom not working, loose socket outlet.
Further Comments: I was attracted to the price & central location. I guess I got what I paid for & mostly turned a blind eye to the general shabbiness of the room & poor state of some of the electrical fittings. The breakfast redeemed most of the faults. Not a place to spend a lot of time in but fine if you have a busy schedule in Glasgow.

Good Points: The Rennie Mackintosh theme must have been amazing when it was first opened with some great detail in the communal areas, such as art deco light fittings and wall hangings. Breakfast was also good.
Bad Points: The hotel is now very tired looking with tatty decor, mismatched old furniture and in my room in particular there were two holes in the bathroom door!
Further Comments: The location of the hotel couldn't be any more central - right in the heart of Glasgow and I think the room rate is reasonable for the location alone. Just don't expect anything great from the room or decor, it is in definite need of a major refurb. Having said that, there was lots of scaffolding up outside the hotel so maybe they have started what is going to be a long process! Good friendly staff, good breakfast, just a bit shabby.
