Good Points: Views
Bad Points: Noise from disco at wedding reception immediately below our room.
Further Comments: The noise we experienced the first night caused us to be moved into a smaller room (for which we were not charged).

Good Points: THE FIRST IMPRESSION OF THE THE HOTEL WAS HOW LOVELY IT LOOKED. I COULD NOT FAULT THE VIEW.
Bad Points: FROM WALKING THROUGH THE HOTEL TO OUR ROOM I WAS ACTUALLY DISAPPOINTED ABOUT THE ROOM WE STAYED IN. IT ACTUALLY FELT MORE LIKE A B&B THAN A HOTEL.
Further Comments: OTHER THAN THE ROOM WHICH I WAS EXPECTING TO BE SLIGHTLY LARGER,I HAVE ONLY GOOD THINGS TO SAY. THE STAFF WERE EXCELLENT AND THE BREAKFAST WE HAD WAS JUST FANTASTIC. I WILL BE RETURNING.

Further Comments: We were very happy with all aspects of the hotel. The location and view down the lake are stunning. The staff were always friendly and efficient. The breakfasts were excellent and the food in the pub next door was good as well.

Bad Points: Toilet flush worked intermittently; bed was the softest I ever had to sleep in, and wobbled.
Further Comments: Overall, we liked the setting but were disappointed with service. For example, at breakfast we waited for over half an hour for a simple order of tea and toast, even though there were very few other guests around; when we finally complained, we were told that our order was misplaced (!?). When our breakfast tea finally arrived, there were no tea bags in our tea pot (!?); when we ponted this out, we got nasty looks from the staff (presumably for complaining again) and no-one said sorry...

Good Points: The setting and view. It must be one of the most beautifull in the World

Further Comments: The hotel sits above the Lake Vyrnwy Reservoir with wonderful views from the restaurant and terrace. The public rooms of the hotel have an old world feel and the restaurant is top class. There is an attached pub, the Tower Tavern, which offers a more informal environment and excellent real ales. An ideal venue for both those looking for energetic country activities as well as those who want to sit in and admire the views.

Good Points: Loved the situation of the hotel. Excellent views.
Bad Points: Bathroom was a little grubby. Broken tiles - no light pull on light switch.
Further Comments: A good stay at the hotel. Situated around excellent views. Housekeeping staff appeared very hardworking, but polite and chatty where needed. A lack of further local facilities - ie shop, takeaway is a shame and the attached 'Tavern' was having a curry night and that is what was only on the menu.

Good Points: STUNNING VIEWS AND VERY ISOLATED WHICH IS WHAT I WANTED.THE ROOM WAS LOVELY AND ALSO CLEAN.
Bad Points: STAFFING LEVELS.I HAD TO WAIT AN HOUR BETWEEN MAIN AND SWEET COURSE. I COMPLAINED AND AFTER APOLOGIES I WAS TOLD THEY WERE SHORT STAFFED AND ONLY HAD FOUR PEOPLE TO SERVE A FULL RESTAURANT.NEVERTHLESS THE STAFF THAT SERVED ME WERE VERY PLEASANT AND OVERWORKED.
Further Comments: I LOVE THIS HOTEL AND WILL BE GOING AGAIN.IT IS ISOLATED BUT THE VIEWS ARE STUNNING AND IN A CAR IT ONLY TAKES ABOUT 20 MINUTES TO GET TO SHOPS ETC. IT IS A PLACE TO REST AND RELAX AND THE FOOD IS GOOD TOO! I LOVED THE COOKED BREAKFASTS.MY ROOM WAS CLEAN AND SPACIOUS AND STAFF WERE FRIENDLY. THE LOCATION AND FOOD ARE THE HOTEL'S BEST ASSETS. PS LOVED THE TOY DOGS THAT YOU PUT OUTSIDE YOUR ROOM IF YOU DID NOT WANT TO BE DISTURBED!!

Good Points: Spacious and well decorated. Clean and comfortable.
Bad Points: Dining options were quite limited for anyone on a budget.
Further Comments: We had booked a room for several nights but left after the first night. The hotel was wonderful but the location was far too remote for someone wanting to do a lot of sight seeing. Would like to have known more about the location and the roads leading into it. It would be perfect for anyone wanting to get away from it all for awhile though.

Good Points: The view, food, bed, shower, TV, dressing gowns - it was one of the best hotels expereienced.
Bad Points: Trouser press in room, fruit teas , ITV, no smoking in the bar,
Further Comments: Generally an excellent experience, in fact the restuarant terrace view was spectacular and although the lake posiion is an attraction ,the actual experience was far superior to the marketing material.. Yes, it is off the beaten track , but well worth another visit.

Good Points: Food, view, service.
Bad Points: They carried out repair work to the adjoining room at 8.45 a.m on our last day there. When you are on holiday you do not want to be woken up with drills and sawing. Not good at all. This also took place from 2 - 5 p.m on the first day when we had returned from a walk. Not considerate. As it was considered low season we were seen as insignificant.
Further Comments: Good place, lovely view, good room, great food. Let down by the repairs carried out.

Good Points: Fantastic food friendly staff, beautiful views. The en-suite Jacuzzi awsome!
Bad Points: Parking about 50yds from front door, when rainning hard that is a long way!
Further Comments: The hotel was very comfortable. Altho for the price the rooms were looking very tired and tatty, they do have plans to extend and are going round refurbishing the rooms/restraunts and lounges, but for the price i felt i shoul dhave had a smarter room. The room itself other that the decoration was lovely, the en-suite jacuzzi was lovely. The hotel staff were friendly and quick. Very enjoyable stay, would like to go back next year after they have compleated refurbishing and doing up all the rooms. We had a bottle of Chanpagne on the first night there, which we enjoyed in the jacuzzi, that was still there along with the slasses
