Good Points: Very comfortable and lovely surroundings.
Further Comments: We were a little disappointed that the Yachtsman's Bar was not open on Thursday evening.It closed at 6pm. All the information online and in the brochure did not mention this. We had planned to eat in the bar but were forced to eat in the restaurant which was lovely but neither of us really wanted such an elaborate dinner.

Good Points: Very spacious room, wonderful outlook across the river. Very comfortably warm. Attentive service - I think, however, we were almost the only people staying! I imagine it is mainly busy in summer

Good Points: The location.
Bad Points: No tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom.
Further Comments: The staff were lovely and really tried their best however when no-one speaks English as their first language, there is always some lack of rapport or communication breakdown. I think that our situation was not typical. We'd come down to go to a funeral which led us into some rather bizarre conversations. Considering our purpose, the accomodation and service was more than adequate but it would have been nice to have been able to make a cup of tea in the bedroom, especially first thing in the morning. The gap between the two single beds was none existent and I felt slightly uncomfortable about sleeping that close to my mother! The views were really lovely and I wish that we could have taken much more advantage of enjoying the late Autumn by being outside more. I have already recommended it to some friends and I think that at sometime, probably next Autumn, I will come back with my husband for a more romantic stay.

Good Points: The view and large bathroom.
Bad Points: Staff need to check (clean)stains on the underside of the bed cover. No very pleasent when folding back to get into bed.

Good Points: The room was compact and clean, and was very regularly tidied - even when we had popped out for a short walk!
Bad Points: It was a little small.
Further Comments: The stay was a very enjoyable one and fulfilled our requirements. The hotel is in a delightful spot and there was genuine delight at being able to go outside after dinner and have no light pollution, so being able to enjoy the night sky - a rarity these days!

Further Comments: A very pleasant and enjoyable stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was of a good/high quality. The hotel's interior decorations were very pleasant and the cleanliness throughout was very good. The surrounding area of Bucklers Hard was quiet and relaxing and I would have no problem in recommending a stay at this hotel. The only gripe was that, being an old building, the floors were a little creaky and we could hear the guests in the room above moving around.
