| Good Points:
We had a beautifully decorated room with a very large comfortable bed. The bathroom was a nice size with a powerful shower and nice deep bath. Many thoughtful items had been left in the room for our use including a little sewing kit which came in so handy. |
| Bad Points:
Nothing to dislike but it was very difficult using the kettle to make a cup of tea as in order to plug it in I had to put the kettle on the floor. |
| Further Comments: When making my booking I obviously considered location. I didn't realise on booking how heautiful the area was nor how well appointed the hotel was going to be. We were so delighted with the welcome we received from the staff; they were so professional which made our stay so enjoyable.
I would also like to mention that the food served in the restaurant both in the evening and at breakfast time was second to none. Delicious, well presented and served by a very obliging and friendly waiter.
I am so pleased to have found this hotel; this would not have happened without using Active Hotels to make my search.
We enjoyed our stay so much that on visiting the Isle of Wight the following day we booked into The Master Builder's sister hotel in Yarmouth. |

| Good Points:
The service was good and staff were very helpful and polite. The food was excellent. The hotel is situated in a lovely, rural quiet location. |
| Bad Points:
I felt that the bedrooms let the stay down for me. They are in need of refurbishment. The bathroom mirror had a large crack down it, the carpet was dirty and rotting in the corner and the bottled water in te bedroom had the seal broken and had been filled up with tap water! |
| Further Comments: Good position, good service, lovely food, bedrooms need attention! |

| Good Points: A very comfortable hotel, in a lovely part of the world. The staff could not do enough to make us feel welcome. The cuisine was of an exceptionally high standard, I would strongly recommend dining in the a la carte restaurant. We look forward to our next visit. |
| Bad Points: we could not find anything we disliked about the hotel. |
| Further Comments: We thought the price quite high when we booked, bearing in mind other hotels in the vicinity. Having now experienced a stay at the hotel, I would comment that it was excellent value for money.
Well done to all of the staff at the Master Builders Hotel, for making our stay an enjoyable one. Look forward to coming back soon. |

| Good Points: Location, service, character |
| Bad Points: Bathroom rather tired |
| Further Comments: This is a hotel full of character and in a superb location. The service is good. We had a problem with a meal but were offered an alternative and not charged for either.
The bathroom was looking tired and in need of renovation. It would be nice to have tea making facilities in the room rather than having to use room service. |

| Good Points: Charming hotel with character and high standards of cleanliness and service. |
| Bad Points: My tall husband kept hitting his head on the low doorways. |
| Further Comments: Quaint hotel in historic village and pretty outlook over the river. Lovely bird life and nearby walks. Good quality restaurant but only alternative for meals is the local pub or a car drive to Lymington or other New forest townships where good quality restaurants can be easily found.
Good bed and clean room. |

| Good Points: Very comfortable and lovely surroundings. |
| Further Comments: We were a little disappointed that the Yachtsman's Bar was not open on Thursday evening. It closed at 6pm. All the information online and in the brochure did not mention this. We had planned to eat in the bar but were forced to eat in the restaurant which was lovely but neither of us really wanted such an elaborate dinner. |
