Good Points: Reception Check in/Check out Car Park Breakfast Housekeeping
Bad Points: Old fashioned My room looked "tired" and in need of external renovation, especially the windows Couldn't control central heating, so had to open windows TV a little dated - couldn't access Teletext
Further Comments: Pleasant enough, and the Active Hotels price was OK, but wouldn't want to pay the "going" rate via hotel's web site for a hotel that is in need of major restoration work, especially on the exterior!

Bad Points: to be honest i thought that for ￃﾂￂﾣ265 for 2 nights on a room only basis, was too expensive, for the standard of room we had
Further Comments: would liked to have known the size of room,the hotel described all rooms with wooden paneling etc. our room was a bog standard one, very poor state especially for the cost, & i had it cheaper cause i booked online

Good Points: Close to where son lives
Bad Points: lots of noise from outside and walls very thin.

Good Points: The location of the hotel was perfect, was easy to get to get into town. The service was good and the breakfast was brilliant.
Bad Points: The only thing I would say is that the rooms do need be updated, especially as we were a young couple it was a bit old fashioned. However, the size of the room and facilities were great.
Further Comments: My overal view of the hotel is good, however as mentioned above the decoration in the bedroom could do with being updated as it does look a bit old fashioned. Other than that the service, food, location and generally everything else was very good.

Good Points: The extra sofa bed in the premimum room is a plus for family with young kids.
Bad Points: The premium room can be bigger. The TV is quite old and should be replaced with slimmer flat-screen ones. TV channels are limited. No mini-bar in the room. Some ligth bulbs do not work. The window glass are not that clean which has spoiled the view of the castle.
Further Comments: The outside of the hotel is a bit depressing compares to the inside. The hotel external will need a make over to compete with other newer hotels in the area. The walk from the hotel car park to the hotel will give a very bad impression of the hotel i.e. old and lack of maintenance was my first impression. The lack of staff at the reception could result in a long wait for just simple tasks e.g. token for car park. The choice of the food at breakfast is limited but the staff are very friendly and welcoming and attentive. The hotel location is great for exploring the city centre, shopping and the castle etc.

Further Comments: we have stayed at this hotel before and reserved our judgment until this stay. however, this will be our last as i hardly had any sleep at all. a very ill fitting room door led to me hearing every single creak in the corridor outside,i could hear the conversation in the adjoining room,in the morning the room service maid may aswell have been at the bottom of my bed with her rustling bag! i felt i had to whisper in the room. very unsatisfactory noise from externally of the otherwise clean, modern room.

Good Points: Good central position. Nice environment and good for the age of the hotel
Bad Points: Poor view out back.
Further Comments: Generally I would recommend this hotel. The food should have been of a much higher standard for a 4*** establishment. Choice limited and cooking of variable standard. Staff friendly if not a bit over the top. As an older hotel it works well and with a bit more effort on the menues and cookong could be up to 4**** standard.

Good Points: The rooms, facilities within the rooms, the freindliness and helpfulness of staff. The car park!
Bad Points: The breakfast used some poor quality products (sausages!)and was so was not good value for money. There is a bit of a smell in some of the hotels corridors.

Further Comments: Food in restaurant was excellent; I would have booked a package to include dinner if I had known it was so good.

Good Points: The staff were helpful & friendly & the rooms were clean and comfortable. The hotel was also in a good location.
Further Comments: We found the hotel quite difficult to locate when we arrived at Cardiff Central, but it was raining heavily so maybe this hindered us. The hotel is in a very good location & it was a pleasant experience staying there. Would definately stay there again.

Good Points: The facilities were good and the hotel is in a central location for most attractions in the city
Bad Points: The room was next to a very busy road and the noise kept us awake both nights
Further Comments: I think that we should have been warned about the level of noise in the room from the road as we have a young child who found it difficult to sleep. The reception staff were helpful although our room was not ready when we checked in which was a nuisance.
