Trengwainton Garden enjoys the particularly mild Cornish climate which enables it to support a wide range of tendr and exotic species which simply can't be grown outdoors anywhere else in the country.
The house and garden at Trengwainton were originally established by Sir Rose Price from around 1814. The Bolitho family took over the property from 1867, but it is due to the work of Lt Colonel Bolitho that we can enjoy Trengwainton as we see it today. Between 1927 and 1928 Bolitho joined Kingdon Ward's botanical expedition to Assam and Burma, returning with a collection of rhododendron seed.
The Jubilee Garden and lower stream are accessible to disabled visitors. Views over Mounts Bay to the Lizard from the terrace.
