Sheffield Park Gardens owe their magnificent appearance to the work of two men, separated in time by over a century; Capability Brown and A G Soames.
Capability Brown designed Sheffield Park in 1775 for the Ist Lord of Sheffield, based around four lakes, linked by cascades, waterfalls and ornamental bridges.
In 1909, A G Soames began a 25 year love affair with Sheffield Park, planting trees and shrubs to create the beautiful garden we see today.
Enjoy bluebells and daffodills in spring, the vibrant colours of rhododendrons and azaleas in summer, and the autumnal shades of hundreds of trees and shrubs planted especially for seasonal colour.
The Gothic house, designed by James Wyatt, is not National Trust Property.
