Originally designed in 1959 for Morecambe Pleasure Park, classic wooden rollercoaster King Solomon's mines has been painstakingly restored and transferred to Southport, where it becomes the park's fifth 'coaster.
The 40mph "wild mouse" type of ride hurls you around a 1650ft wooden track of hair raising bends, 40ft drops and high speed turns, with nothing to save you but a small runaway mine train for two! It joins its big brother woodie, the 1937 Cyclone, and three steelie coasters, including the breathtaking TRAUMAtizer, which flies thrillseekers through five terrifying loops and rolls at speeds of up to 85kph, pulling up to 4.5+G!
There are two more white knuckle attractions here: the world's tallest and fastest Ejection Seat, where you sit between two 120ft pillars and bungee up to a height of 180ft at 100mph, and the 100ft Sky Coaster, where you fly between the wires and experience something between skydiving and paragliding. To top it all, the 100ft Big Wheel has already been nicknamed the Southport Eye by locals.......and it worked first time!
Pinker-knuckle action in the fun House includes the traditional wooden joy wheel, social mixer and rotating barrel, plus ball pools and the moment-of-truth vertical slide. Casablanca is a new Family Entertainment Centre with a family restaurant and bar, all the latest simulators, video games and Go-Karts.
