Laugharne Castle sits on low cliffs overlooking the River Taf estuary. The castle dates back the 14th century and there may have been a Roman fort on the site prior to that.
Dylan Thomas is closely associated with Laugharne, where he spent his later years and is now buried in the village churchyard. The boathouse where he spent a great deal of his time is just a short distance from the castle along a footpath.
