The Knapp and Papermill Reserve lies in the beautiful and peaceful Leigh Brook valley. The reserve supports a diverse range of habitats in a relatively small area, and is designated a site of Special Scientific Interest.
A circular trail of 1 3/4 miles takes in all the main features of the reserve. Buy the inexpensive, but very informative and well illustrated, guide from the information centre. You'll see and learn far more equipped with this.
The first section of the trail (to stop 9 in the guide) is pretty flat. After this point it gets quite steep.
If you're lucky you may see the Kingfishers in action from the purpose built hide.
Knapp and Papermill Reserve is very special. Hope you enjoy as much as we did.
