Kingsford Country Park is a wooded area straddling a sandstone ridge which extends into the adjacent Kinver Edge (NT).
The main car park just off Gypsy Lane is set in coniferous woodland with several picnic benches dotted around.
Several paths lead from here into the park and you soon enter more interesting deciduous woodland. As you progress further towards the sandstone ridge the incline increases but never to the point were it could be called steep.
At the top you are rewarded with a wonderful view of open farmland and countryside stretching across the gently rolling hills. Numerous benches across the ridge make a great place to sit and relax. The footpath across the ridge is then fairly flat and takes you to Kinver Edge (NT) if you head north.
It is possible to take one of several steep paths down the ridge where you can find sandstone caves that were once homes, although better preserved cave homes can be seen at Kinver Edge. This area is covered with less dense woodland and more ferns.
Toilet block is situated on car park.
The attractive Kinver village centre is only a short distance away and offers a number of shops and pubs. Antique or bric-a-brac fairs take place most weekends at venues in the village.
