Hidcote Manor is quite an amazing garden, divided into numerous rooms by tall hedges, which ensure that a surprise is around every corner.

Each 'room' at Hidcote Manor has its own unique style, planting, shape and proportions, created by horticulturist Major Lawrence Johnson.

The 'doors' from one garden to another have invariably been designed to create a picture frame as well as means of access. The views through some of the doors at Hidcote Garden are quite spectacular.

One of the longer views at Hidcote Manor Garden extends from The Old Garden through The Circle and The Red Borders, up a flight of steps and between two summer houses, and finally through an avenue of pleached hornbeams to an elegant gateway. The view draws you into each garden, and when you finally arrive at the gateway, Hidcote delivers a distant view of the Vale of Evesham.

The mix of formal and informal gardens at Hidcote Manor keeps your interest and several water gardens also feature. Hidcote also has a Kitchen Garden situated next to the Rose Garden.

Be sure to buy a Hidcote Manor Gardens map at the entrance. It would be easy to miss out individual gardens without one.

Pushchair and wheelchair access at Hidcote is variable because of the sheer range of garden styles and steps in places. Some parts are inaccessible to wheel chairs. Hidcote's paths are generally of gravel and the car park is covered with a particularly coarse gravel.

Toilet facilities at Hidcote Manor Garden are in the plant centre adjacent to the car park and also in the garden just beyond the entrance.
