Blackstone Country Park sits on the bank of the River Severn adjacent to the A456 Bewdley bypass.
Wide grass pathways divide fenced areas of tall grass, wild flowers and trees on this compact, gently sloping site.
Picnic benches are dotted about and make this a pleasant spot for a picnic.
On the opposite side of the river is a steep sandstone cliff next to a farm with a half timbered farmhouse. You can cross the river by foot on the bypass bridge to visit the opposite bank or walk upstream on this side of the river to Bewdley. Personally, I wouldn't leave my car here unattended for too long. There is plenty of car parking in Bewdley.
To reach the country park travel into Bewdley town and take the B4194 down a particularly narrow street, signposted for Stourport-on-Severn.
Also adjacent to the A456 next to the Blackstone traffic island is a car park which is convenient for the Devil's Spittleful Nature Reserve.
Bewdley is an interesting Georgian town, with many black and white buildings, small shops, tea rooms, museum and my favourite station on the Severn Valley Railway.
The Wyre Forest is only a short distance (about 2 miles) along the A456.
