Situated in the heart of Covent Garden and filled with stunning exhibits, London Transport Museum brings the story of London's transport and its impact on our city into the 21st century. Lively exhibitions explore the powerful link between transport and the growth of modern London, culture and society since 1800. Visitors will encounter the world's first steam and electric Tube railways, and discover treasures from one of the most important collections of posters and graphic art in the world.

Fun for families - Specially created to enable families and young people to delve deeper into the stories behind the displays, the All Aboard and Interchange exploration zones offer great fun for young people and adults alike. Dress up in transport workers' uniforms, play on real buses and trains and meet some of our actors who help bring the exhibits alive.

Upper Deck cafe bar serves breakfast all day as well as lunch, and pre-theatre drinks. A picnic area is available in the Museum galleries.

Amongst popular items at the London Transport Museum shop are the iconic transport posters spanning a century of poster design, including Art deco classics of the 1930's. Also available are designer gifts and print-to-order customised ranges, in addition to souvenirs, DVDs, magazines, books, and limited edition models.

Opening times - Open daily from 10.00 (Fridays 11.00) to 18.00 (last admission 17.15). Kids go free. Adult admission is charged and includes a voluntary Gift Aid donation. Groups of 10 or more must book in advance and will receive a 15% discount.

Fortune Theatre in Covent Garden London, the first theatre to be built in London after World War I in the West End, opened its doors for the first time on 8th November 1924, and later renovated in 1960 to an Art Deco style.

The first performance given to the public was called Sinners, this play was written by the architect of the theatre Laurence Cowen.

Over many years hundreds of productions have been played at the theatre with an impressive list of famous actors and actresses, and during World War II the forces used the building for their shows.

The Fortune remained in private hands for a long time, but since December 2001, it joined nine others belonging to the Ambassador Theatre Group.
