Acton Scott offers visitors a fascinating insight into Victorian rural life at the turn of the 19th century. Farming activities take place in and around Acton Scott's 18th century Home Farm buildings and include daily demonstrations of period skills and visits from the wheelwright, farrier and blacksmith, providing a picture of life as it might have been on a Victorian country estate, while the land around Acton Scott is worked by heavy horses.
Acton Scott also offer a programme of courses throughout the year in traditional building skills, rural crafts, animal husbandry and Victorian Cottage life. The courses are run by experts in their respective fields, keen to pass on their knowledge of these lesser known skills to future generations. Acton Scott Historic Working Farm provides an educational programme for schools.
