"An ideal base for our stay but would probably not stay there again because of the beds."
Location was excellent for our needs as it was a 2 minute walk from the train station. Very clean and modern hotel with friendly staff.
Stayed in a twin room and the mattresses were very hard which did not allow for a very comfortable sleep.

"An ok hotel for a couple of nights. "
Nice bar and breakfast. There was a mix up with our room when we arrived but the staff were very apologetic and put it right immediately. Very handy to train station 2 minutes walk.
A bit too eager to get breakfast cleared away in the morning although it was better the second day. Very basic room not even a cupboard!.

Prompt service at arrival and very accomodating towards setting up a bed for our young child. After areturning quite late the following evening the staff were happy to serve us coffee. Very welcoming hotel staff.

"Just handy for Derby F C with enough eating places nearby.and easy reach of M1 and town centre"

Outlook a bit grim at the moment as building work in grounds continues

"At full quoted price this would be poor value but at the Active Hotels discounted rate it was just acceptable. Not a budget hotel."
This is a new and smart hotel with a cheerful and enthusiastic reception staff. It is very convenient to the city centre and very close to the station. There is a generous car parking area and the access from the A52 and the city are very easy.
Some of the room facilities were basic - no bath - no hook to hang a towel or coat in the ensuite. Tap on the basin did not overlap the basin fully so tended to spread water over the adjacent surface. Early morning noise from the trains marshalled overnight in the adjacent sidings motors started at 0500hrsmight disturb a very light sleeper.

"We were very pleased with everything. We did not eat in the hotel, due to price and choice of menu and there were two good restaurants within easy walking distance."
Good position. Free Parking. Large room with everything you need, we liked the sofa in the room. Pleasant staff.
Menu very limited and overpriced.
