"we were visiting family in the area and as we travel from Spain we found the price very good when you are having to stay in a few places on our visit. Have stayed before and would stay again. "

We enjoy all aspects of this hotel, it's price, the rooms, the breakfasts and the staff.

"Needs to be made clear that it is NOT a hotel, but rather college accommodation - no lift etc. & quite a long walk with at least 2 flights of stairs from parking the car for anyone with walking limitations. "

A clean basic room except for the bath mat mentioned below, lovely clean white bedding and towels. Plenty of tea, coffee, milk for drinks. Good value for the price we were paying.

Rubber bath mat needed a VERY good scrubbing - soft black mould that really does need to be removed particularly with MRSA etc. problems. Could not see the room guide to our room from the front door - behind us as we walked along the passage, rather than infront of us. Toilet had a slow flush.

"This is strictly speaking not a hotel in the expected way but it served our purpose."

Convenient to visit Brodsworth Hall and to see the local countryside. Price. Good location in the country.

Was a bit surprised at the amount of walking between room, car and breakfast. This was not a problem, unless it had been raining. I feel the web site did not make this clear. Luckily we did not need a lift. If my wife had been on her own she would have been lost. A few sign posts would have solved this.

"would recommend this hotel as excellent value for maoney and quality of rooms for were more like £50 per head rather than £15. This is a basic room and should be viewed as that and makes an excellent stopover point. Lovely surroundings and a nice building. Eating arrangements should be booked in advance or make other arrangements. A really nice chinese a few miles along the road."

excellent value for money with rooms that were very comfortable

information on eating was given incorrectly

"Very pleasant - I have stayed there before, and I would have no hesitation in doing so again, as it is excellent value for money."

Good size room for a single. Excellent en suite shower. Comfortable bed. Very clean rooms. Very quiet, pleasant area.

    Poor TV reception.

Clean, super view, lovely white fluffy large bath sheets. Handy for local bus service.

Just did not think there would not be a hair drier

For several days, there was no hot water in the morning and when reported to staff, we were told that we were making it up as no one else had complained. Yet again the reception staff had acted as if they were doing us a favour for letting us stay there, never again!

    "Served a purpose"

    Price

Reception staff on first visit were rude and there is very little or no food available, when I asked is the resurante open the reply was not this week, you can always get a take away brought in and when I pointed out that your site said it offered this service, the response was and I quote. What do you expect for the price! We have paid these sort of prices before at various other hotels of better standing. The price was good but not that good when you compare it against other hotels and if they had to compete in the open market I wouldn't think they would last long.

"We were not escorted or helped to find our room and had to go back to reception, after which the caretaker finally assisted us."

Nice grounds, room with view, cleanliness of buildings and site, generous breakfast. Cheaper if ordered at restaurant than paid at reception.

No record of our booking at reception. Were given gloomy room without view initially; after complaint better room with view. No mention in original booking confirmation that room was on third floor without a lift which with one of us being disabled, made things rather difficult. As location of College is not easy to find, maps of surrounding area/access to main roads would be helpful for guests with your confirmation of reservation. No instructions in room about fire escape.

"You are not told you are staying in conference facilities of a university, which was fine for 3/4/09 as it was the Easter break. At other times there may be too many students around."

    Value for money

    Isolated hotel

"Surprised by situation as avert and info laft a lot to be desired. Actual time on the site mostly satisfactory."

Cleanliness. Heating in rooms. Staff very friendly.

Advert DID NOT EXPLAIN hotel part of college. No breakfast available Saturday, altho prepaid, no staff in kitchen. Advert mentioned fine dining but did not state that this is very infrequent.

"Would stay again for 1 or 2 nights but not longer."

Very clean bathroom and plenty of hot water, beds comfier than they looked!

No really bad points, just very basic rooms but adequate. Building seemed dark and drab inside and neglected. Reception could have been more clearly sign posted.

    "quiet and comfortable"

    Quiet location friendly reception staff

Remote location and lack of establishments offering food I ended up in sainsbury's local for a baguette and some cream cheese after a 6 hour day at work and 3 hour drive on the motorway in fairly heavy snow. Having to walk down a slope and up a flight of stairs not only because of the weather but also because I have a disability. Difficult to find and when I tried to call for directions it went through to somebodys voicemail so I had visions of sleeping in the car in the middle of nowhere.

"Hotel was generally what I expected for the price I paid although I'd be happy to pay more and have some of the above points rectified. "

Excellent value for money. Great to have breakfast priced separately because I don't eat breakfast. Well situated for the event I was attending.

TV indoor aerial resulted in poor reception. No heating. Room was cold at night More parking spaces would have been helpful The booking confirmation described magnificent views. My view was actually of the other side of the building.

"Generally very pleasant stay, and excellent value for money."

Comfortable, clean ensuite single room with an excellent shower. Very pleasant and peaceful parkland location. Easy parking.

Some odd design flaws - 1. The awkward positioning of toilet tissue holder. 2. There are separate pull switches in the bathroom for each light and the extractor fan, but if the fan is turned off, then all the bathroom lights go off too. Wireless internet access in the bedrooms would be helpful.

"Excellent. A big thank you to all the staff."

Excellent cleanliness. Very friendly staff. Professional environment. Staff are very accomodating. Restaurant staff are particularly helpful.

Details of available rooms on the internet are inaccurate. Rooms are actually available when the websites state that there are no rooms available. Some of the websites are not user friendly at all.
