Given a room with no air-conditioning. There was a 15cm fan in the wardrobe that we could use instead ! Expensive menu items and bar prices

"Generally very pleased and would use the Hilton hotels again."

Found housekeeping to be first rate.

We found the charge for internet use to be very expensive, maybe a free period of 30 minutes a day would be better, as not all customers are business so have to pay themselves.

    "Our stay was fine. "

The room was a decent size and was adequate for a couple of nights.

The room was very warm. Although there was no air conditioning a fan was provided which did help a little. The restaurant was alright but not a great selection on the menu for the evening meal.

"Very poor value. Having travelled the world this was the worst Hilton we have stayed in by far"

    Unable to think of any

Poor service, food and attitude. Bedrooms lacked any ventilation.

    "Enjoyable."

Pleasant location, courteous helpful staff, good food.

Corridor smelled of cigarette smoke, no fridge/minibar in room and Wifi was expensive.

    Friendly staff

Hotel looks dated & a refurb is overdue, quite expensive compared to others, no iron in room, no A/C, health facilities look dated and poor. 4th floor rooms still have a whiff of smoke about them.

"We felt comfortable and relaxed in this hotel and will stay there again if we are in the area. Well done for having a television with subtitles a blessing for hearing impaired guests."

The Lounge area was laid out in a relaxing manner. The staff were polite and helpful.

We felt that even though the menu was variable for the evening meal the prices were expensive £13 for a Margherita Pizza was a joke when it contains just cheese and tomatoe fillings. The drinks were also expensive. There was no alarm system for the hearing impaired guests, which could pose a danger in a fire or during any other instance where one needs to evacuate the building.

Breakfast was excellent, complained about the lack of yoghurt and only having smoked bacon and this was resolved on the second morning.

helpful reception staff Nice bathroom with good products

window didn't fit frame- room very noisy. room cold- radiator didn't work internet connection irreprably broken on whole FLOOR of hotel for both nights of my stay Second night, room service 'lost' my room number and therefore didn't bring any food. When I finally called to ask what problem was, they said they'd bring my food in 15mins but took 30- when it arrived it was barely hot, a very small portion, the glass of wine had been spilled in the tray, it came with no apology or explanation and certainly no discount

    "Very good."

Excellent staff; good bar menu; nice hotel and room; leisure facilities good; nice touch with the complimentary wine, water and papers; and breakfast was really goodquite simply the best I've experienced at a hotel.

The traffic noise was very noticable when trying to sleep, strong smell of cigarette smoke on third floor and the location of the hotel was a little out of the way.

I booked through your online agency but the hotel were not expecting me and had to do considerable work to accomodate me. The hotel did their best - the booking process was very bad

"The service levels in this hotel were appalling. If you like to be ignored by the staff then this is the place to stay."

My room and the general areas were pleasent, clean and tidy.

    "Could have been better."

Convenient location, long breakfast serving times in lovely dining area with very friendly staff there, lovely pool.

Not enough staff on reception only 1 person on an early Saturday evening with alot of people booking in for a wedding receptionresulting in being given incorrect rooms I had booked a delux double and a twin only to find both were double rooms on different floors and I then had to leave my disabled son in the room to go back to reception to change the room to a twin which took over half an hour - hence making us late getting to our evening appointment!!and I am unsure whether the double room was the upgraded one I had paid for!!!! Also there was a dog in close proximity which was barking when we arrived about 6p.m. and was still barking at 2a.m. The staff member at the swimming pool gave the impression he did not wish to be there!!

"Generally very pleased with the stay. Due to work committments we have had to stay in many hotels over the past few months, up and down the country and so far the Hilton has been one of the best. The food and service in the restaurant was also very good. One comment however regarding the breakfast was the lack of staff and their eagerness to serve the table."

    Comfortable, clean and welcoming.

Nothing really to dislike, the only comment would be the TV, but when only spending a couple of hours in the room it isn't really a problem.

"This is a fairly standard Hilton in a nice location on the edge of Southampton. I was in a nice room but the Pay TV did not work. I did nto sue the leisure facilities and was away from the hotel for most of the time. The arrangements for breakfast were very poor - we not in the usual restaurant, which was set out for Mothers' Day lunch, and frankly it was all a bit like Fawlty Towers. I would go back again but would hope that this was a one-off problem."

The room was nice and the overall ambience of the hotel is good.

The Pay TV did not work and the arrangements for breakfast were very poor with lots of waiting around, poor service and everything running out.

    "AWFUL:!!"

We did book for a deluxe room but looking one the web site once home it was a basic room which was awful. Dirty towels, freezing cold. Some of the staff were friendly but only some!!!
