Staff friendly, good price, room bright and clean. Good breakfast.

Hotel a little tatty in places - carpets worn, leaking water, very cramped shower in my room. But not bad given it was only £27/night.

    friendly Knowledgeable staff, good food

not easy to find, directions could be improved. I drove past it 3 times without knowing.

Reasonably cheap, looked nice from outside. Good customer service the following day when I had lost my keys.

Small room in bad need of redecoration. Cracked sink, bath with a shower house is surely out of date in 2009. Tiny TV.

The hotel was excellent and I would certainly stay there again. Proprietor was very friendly and helpful.

I wasn't happy with the online booking as the accommodation I booked online wasn't available at the hotels or the nights I had requested even though it said these were available. It took me more than three attempts to secure a booking as I kept on getting phone calls from the hotels selected advising they couldn't accommodate me. I ended up having a double room instead of a twin which was okay as I was with my mum but I feel the details should be updated a lot quicker online.

    "Nice, friendly atmosphere. Recommended!"

Sea promenade just across the street Very friendly landlord/landlady You can choose the type of breakfast as the individual parts of an typical English breakfast from a menu card Clean rooms

Flushing of the toilet didn't work in the first room. But rooms where changed quickly. SatNav had problems with the address Marine Parade 39/40. Its actually located a few meters into Marine Road Not many parking spaces for free parking

"it was ok, i would say the best part was the staff and their attitudes towards the guests."

the staff were helpful and really nice to us, they were cheerful and pleasent. also the breaky was Great!!!...the bedding was clean and the bed was comfortable. there was an electric heater in the room so we could turn it on/off when we wanted it.

the wall paper was falling down in the bed room and it was all a bit oldy world...i forsome reason i came out in a rash/bites over night, which wasnt too nice considering that it never has happened to me before. also parking was a nightmare!...after my stay i came home and looked at other hotels in eastbourne and i found another hotel which has recently been rebuild and looked far more moddern just for £15 more which gutted me!

    "as mentioned"

staff we did see seemed cheerful enough

decor needs a modern makeover very outdated but a beautiful grade 2 listed building. the shower unit was so poor would be nice to have had a power shower didnt feel freshened up despite my difficult shower. also they said that we could feel free and sit outside for a drink in the garden.when we rang the bell twice a young lady appeared. when asked what wine she had just got white or red. also told us that the outside had not been wiped down so we decided to leave and have drink elsewhere. shame about that because we just wanted to sit down after a long drive and a long day ahead of us

Room had a nice little balcony with sea views

When the people in the room above had a bath/shower it leaked through the ceiling and woke us up. From the state of the ceiling it wasnt the first time it had happened

    Tidyness

Very small bath, small bed, and a front door impossible to open by yourself-had to wake up the landlord at 4AM to let me in - which he very kindly did I must say

"Nice old building with friendly owner everyting was as I expected it to be in fact other than the lack of parking the only other complaint was the TV remote didnt work properly>"

The view from the window was fantastic looking straight out to to the sea, we just sat there in the evening watching all the lights come down the road and on the pier.

Lack of parking, it was hard to find a space near the hotel, in the summer I would guess it would be next to impossible.

Parking is on street and although we had no problem in early March it could be more difficult at peak holiday times. Having said that we will go back!"

Close to amenities, friendly, lovely sea view, good choice for breakfast

Lack of parking could be problematic at peak times
