"A very average experience"
Spacious rooms
Hotel rooms are over priced in comparison to others in the area, the food was over priced and service from staff was only adequate

Clean and tidy hotel with good restaurant - we ate breakfast and dinner there. Nice to have free broadband as I could keep up with my website.
One lamp had a dead bulb. Heating a bit too fierce at night for my liking, and a little too noisy but I am a very light sleeper.

"Adequate for the purpose"
Large room & comfortable bed
Had to wait for 1 & a half hours for my dinner which wasn't great.

"Good"
Cleanliness. Comfort. Food. Staff.
Not really bad but room was a bit cramped for more than one night. Bath tap was faulty.

"Perfectly satisfactory except for bedside lighting. We stayed at the hotel because of the excellent, friendly treatment received by our recently widowed daughter whose first lone experience it was, in September. "
Excellent dinner menu. Appreciated smaller portions available. Good nights sleep.
Lighting in bedroom scarcely good enough to read by especially bedside Breakfast adequate but continental somewhat limited Had to wait to check in while people who came later were served in the bar; we are too old to enjoy being messed about.

"An excellent choice as a stopping-off point prior to a week in the Lake District. My partner hadn't wanted to pre-book a hotel but had to confess I'd made an excellent choice - lots of "Brownie Points"!!"
Comfortable bed. Excellent shower. Lovely, large fluffy towels. Room not noisy despite being positioned over bar area. Close to Motorway but no noise from there either. Restaurant food very good. Spotlessly clean.

"2nd time at that hotel and enjoyed it as much as the 1st."
The Staff need particular mention. Everyone was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble in particular the Restaurant Manager/Supervisor? at breakfast Sunday 7th, she was just lovely.
Not so much a bad point but I did find the room quite dark in the evening none of the lightbulbs were blown but thats probably just me!!!

"As above - will certainly stay again when in the area. "
Excellent service. Good food and a fine selection of real ale at the bar made this a good stopover. Also the live band was an unexpected entertainment.

"Very, very, very, good."
Excellent food, especially the Meal Deal offered from 5.30 - 7.00. The staff were fantastic, nothing too much trouble.
Only could not stay any longer.

"In spite of being very close to the M6 5 mins from J35, it's actually in a very beautiful rural setting, with a canal walk close by. There is good parking, the bar has a good selection of real ales and the restaurant area is very well set out. The accommodation was very comfortable and well looked after."
Everything was clean, the room and en-suite were recently decorated. Freeview was available in the room.
It was very close to the M6 and, being a pub, it was quite noisy until well after midnight.
