    "very comfortable"

staff polite and helpful at all times. Having a lift was very good.

room was too hot, bigger size towels in bathroom would have been nice, satnav directions to dilston road took us to the other end of Dilston road. Trying to get correct directions to hotel was quite hard especially as roads were blocked off in places.

"The stay was okay, but really not happy about seeing a mice in my room."

Price is good for a hotel in this quility.

Saw a mice in the room at after 12am, it came in from the door gap underneath and went out after a few minutes.

"Hotel was fine for the 2 nights I was there, but would stay elsewhere if I had to return to Newcastle. "

    Room was fine.

Further from the city centre than expected. Only had a tiny towel for my shower. Room was uncomfortably hot, and the heating was on one of the nights despite it being on of the hottest days of the year.

Staff hospitality is excellent. Very obliging and proactive.

Breakfast could be improved in terms of spread.

"It is a 2 star hotel, you get what you pay for! adequate if just wanting somewhere to sleep and not break the bank!"

Room was clean and bedlining fresh, tea & coffee available. Breakfast was plentiful and good choice. The chap on reception was very helpful on arrival and went out of his way to help with maps etc unfortunately we only saw him the once!Although we didn't need it, was impressed with the secure carpark at the back, if taking a car would recommend you use it.

TV wasn't tuned in,some of the fruit was past it's best at breakfast. We stayed in a twin ensuite, a little cramped could take out the big chest of draws and put in a small dressing table in the recess - no where to hang a dress except on the back of the door not ideal.A bit noisy we could hear what was going on in the next room!On return one evening the reception office where we collected our key was full of men, definately felt like I was interupting when asked for key, a little daunting and not very customer friendly!

    "Decent enough."

    Great shower in the en-suite.

Noisy floors when anyone walked past my room. Single glazed windows which let in a lot of noise from outside. Close to street so quite a lot of noise.

Taps in room didn't work, sheets were dirty, shared bathroom was between to many rooms, room was tiny. Room was ridiculously overpriced.

"Was expecting the worst having read some reviews the day before, but it is OK. A little shabby in general areas but the room was clean, as was bathroom shared, and it had a decent shower."

Reasonable price, freeview TV, Internet access available. Direct bus link into city

Getting back by taxi - one way system adds about £3 to the fare compared to being able to go directly into city.

"A decent base for a night in Newcastle"

    - Close to city centre location - Early check in was much appreciated - Very helpful and friendly staff, to the point of knocking on the door of my 2nd floor room to tell me my taxi had arrived on Sunday morning - Nice lounge area including pool table

    - Combination of pay-on-arrival and £2 charge for any credit/debit card was rather unpleasant - Would be helpful to mention that the 0.75 mile walk from the station is all up a steep hill! - Small room

No 24hr reception, you will stand outside ringing the bell several times before someone answers, poor customer service, onsuite facilities dark and too small, table lamp did not work.

"It was genarally okay for me. However, from a security point of view even though there was cctv I was a little concerned that when handing my key to reception which I had to do. Reason, somebody could easily ask for my room key when a different guy is on duty. The receptionist is naturally going to assume that the would be thief is a normal person going to his or her room. There was no safe in the room or at reception even though I was advised that they would look after any valueables. "

Generally I found the hotel good value for money. Free internet access, tea and coffee in the room, good working showers which were clean.

The only minor bad point was really the breakfast as there was no cooked breakfast on offer. However, there was plenty of food and drink.

    Safe Parking

Room was very small and over crowded, second day the room was not made up, very noisy both inside and out and an ensuite which you had to move the bed to fuly get into as the door hit the bed.

The hotel was very cheap, the standard of staff and cleanliness was great for the price. Would recommend and visit again if coming to the area.

Nothing to complain about for this price.

"For a short stay it covers all the bases. "

Room was clean and tidy, staff friendly.

Room was relatively small, especially when comparing to the double room en suite displayed online. I personally would not class the room as a double as relatively little space between bed and wall, particularly in relation to access to the bathroom. Decor was also outdated.

"Check in was quick and to the point, we found the room clean and enjoyed sitting in bed watching the tv with a cup of tea. The breakfast lacked choice, very very basic. The day we were checking out i did find the interuption 30 minutes before check out by the cleaners annoying as they didnt seem to understand a word i was saying, in the end they exchanged words with each other in a language i didnt understand and moved onto other rooms. The reception staff were friendly and understanding even when i accidently locked my key in my room. My partner would stay here again most likely because of the pool table but i would rather try some another b&b. The sorounding area of the hotel was off putting, i wouldnt feel very comfrotable walking around there late at night coming from a small town i am not used to it."

the room was clean and tidy, price was fair

it was quite cold, no thermastat, room was small, sorounding area not desirable, some staff dont speak good if any english
