Inexpensive, clean and tidy, quiet location, friendly staff, good Indian restaurant on the premises. Very convenient for Donington Park or East Midlands Airport.

    Some noisy plumbing.

"Would have been excellent all round apart from the breakfast which really let the place down. Would certainly use the bar and resturant for dinner/lunch and would stay over night again, but would pass on the breakfast."

Lunch ane evening meal very good quality. All the staff were helpful, efficiant and very well mannered.

The breakfast was a real let down. Poor quality, small portions, no choices.

"We were made to feel welcome and stay was comfortable."

Staff were very polite and helpful, food excellent, and general surroundings excellent.

Building is in need of some updating, but this is purely due to the buildings age.

"Enjoyable, comfortable, and excellent value for money. A well run hospitality business. I would have no hesitation in staying here again. I may even bring my wife!!"

On arrival Staff welcomed me by name and were very helpful. The room, although basic, was well equipped with en-suite, etc. and it was clean. Complementary beverage-making facilities, toiletries, etc, were appreciated. For

For a no pretentions B&B over a pub and restaurant there were none.

Staff were great. We appeared to be staying in a tree house/at the top of a fire escape. Bed was very comfy.

No blind to stop daylight coming through frosted glass of the door. Difficult to get the blind down on the velux window. Terrible stench of garlic from the kitchen came up through the plumbing in the bathroom.

The hotel was clean and tidy and friendly and the restaurant was superb with an excellant varied menu, the breakfast was also good with a good cup of coffee!

Unfortunatly the cctv was useless at night as they turned all the lights off so nothing could be seen!

"Staff at the hotel were obliging and courteous. The restaurant was very nicely laid out, and the Indian food excellent. The bedroom was small and in need of modernising, but clean, and its facilities were adequate for an overnight stay. The corridor outside the rooms smelled a little musty."

Friendly staff and good Indian Cuisine

Accommodation a bit shabby although clean. A damp/must smell in corridor of hotel rooms.

You can't really fault accommodation when it's over a great Indian restaurant! Big car park & friendly staff.

Small room - but it did all it needed. Walls a bit thin!

"All the factors listed under what we liked about the place add up to a quite positive view. The place has a nice, relaxing feel to it, perhaps conducing to chilling out there for a longer time."

General attentiveness of staff; joviality of the owner; excellent location adjacent to Derbyshire farmland. Nice heritage building touches around the site. Good wi-fi service. The restaurant food and service was very good. Easy and interesting walk back into town of Melbourne. Well located for getting out an about by car to other nearby villages.

There were a surprising number of large, old cobwebs, admittedly high up, but still should have been spotted and removed. Outdated lighting and fixtures, one needed some attention during our stay. A few too many squashed insect remains around the ceiling. All this means that a thorough, deep cleaning is needed, but the routine cleanliness and orderliness matters were well handled.
