"The Millers at Glencot House more than lived up to it's reputation. The staff were charming, the food superb, the hotel and it's surroundings could not be faulted. Totally different from your average establishment. We shall return again."
A truly lovely experience in a unique country hotel

"Fantastic, highly highly recommended"
Fantastic hotel, very unusual and different from any hotel we have stayed in before, cannot adequately describe how good this hotel experience was with the eclectic collection of wacky and quirky antiques and curiousities scattered all over the public and private rooms. The gardens are also a joy to behold with a tranquil lake and croquet hoops on the beautiful lawn and once again many hidden treasures to be found scattered throughout the gardens.

"I rarely spend the time to right these reviews, but Glencot thoroughly deserves every ounce of praise it can get. Everything about this hotel is perfection. The building and grounds are beautiful, the facilities are excellent with a few extra suprises thrown in - like a private cinema and a resident singing Stag, and the geniune friendliness of everyone working there completes the perfect package. There is absolutely no question we will be going back as soon as possible I hope!. If you want a truly original hotel with oodles of decadence and warm greetings, you will be hard pushed to find better."

"Very comfortable stay, staff generally very helpful. Dinner was faultless each night."
Lovely setting and beautiful old hotel, carefully furnished. Very comfortable
Hot water for showers ran out early Saturday evening. There was a feeling that we were intruding. Got ticked off for using the wrong stairs - didn't expect that!

"This hotel feels like you are staying at someone's house and someone who is a little eccentric and has travelled a lot- there are piles of books everywhere, sofas, candles, more books, an amazing collection of ornaments and not forgetting the suit of armour in reception! The house and gardens are beautiful."
The grounds are amazing and the stuff everywhere is fascinating.

"While a beautiful and engaging accomodation, it was overpriced when it lacked simple utilities like access to hot shower. Disappointed with the result of what should have been a special overnight stay."
Beautiful surroundings. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Good food.
Shower did not work. No one interested enough to examine it despite 2 requests to do so. No hot water.

"If you are looking for a chance to step back in time and stay in a period mansion from yesteryear then this is the place. Our Four poster room overlooking the gardens was fantastic. Beautiful room and magnificent grounds. Quirky interiors and antiques. Great service from friendly staff We have both traveled the world and do not expect to be delighted because so often we are not. This one lived up to the description!"
An excellent location and a beautiful hotel
No lift - but a great old house like this is unlikely to have one

Amazingly comfortable !

"I picked this hotel more or less at random looking for a venue for a short business meeting in the genral area. Its location is not obvious, and I appreciated the privacy and quality of the hotel. The staff were welcoming but not obtrusive. The restaurant was excellent, not over fussy food and the wine list was reasonably priced. A real gem!"
Very unusual decor, very personal service, the situation is superb.

"We loved this hotel. Can find nothing at all to fault the experience and the staff were particularly friendly and helpful . We have stayed in many other more expensive places but this beat the lot."
