"Slightly disappointing, as the original intention was to spend the day in Chester, and then to have dinner and relax in the hotel, but the menu was very uninspiring, and nothing like the "sample menu" shown on the website, so we had to go back into Chester to eat."
Location; car park; size of room; friendliness of owners/staff
Tired decoration; room not cleaned recently; apparent lack of heating; dinner menu not as expansive as that shown on the website

"Overall enjoyable"
Good Food. Attentive friendly Staff. Gave us first floor room when noticed my wife recovering from broken leg originally booked on 3rd floor
Food good but pricey, wine same. Very quiet on our visit, prefer a bit more "buzz". Quite a distance from city centre. No local shops or pubs.

"A pleasant stay all in all. The hotel wasn't busy but this reflects the time of the year I guess. Decor will not be to everyone's taste but suited us."
Friendly and engaging owners, who made us very welcome. Good breakfast, comfortable room, unique decor, certainly an antidote to minimalism!
A little far out from the centre of the city nothing to be done about that. Not such an abundance of hot water.

"Overall, we really enjoyed our overnight stay and would definitely recommend the Cuzon to anyone inquiring about the accomodations. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the extra small touches of flowers on the tables and throughout the common areas."
Excellent accomodations and good service. The chef prepared and excellent dinner. So we would recommend you try the evening menu.
The only thing we found a little strange, was getting to our room through the dining area.

"A brief and pleasant interlude in a busy weekend."
General ambience very good. Staff very obliging and friendly. Food excellent, both dinner and breakfast.
The pillows of the fourposter bed were rather hard. As seems to be usual in hotels it was hard to find sufficient light to read in bed. The stay was expensive when compared with our general experience.

"The Curson seems to be Chester's best kept secret and I look forward to my next visit."
The rear room was very quiet with a pleasant view over the immaculate garden. The room tea and coffee facilities included a cafetiere and a range of hot drinks. The shower was one of the best I have experienced in a UK hotel.
None.

"A positive experience which I would recommend. I would definitely stay there again. A little gem!"
Staff friendly and helpful, rooms of a good standard and very clean. Nice bar area to relax in. Thoughtfully decorated and furnished throughout. Lots of little 'extras' such as a cafetière in the room with packs of coffee, also biscuits along with usual tea and instant coffee... tissues etc. Also a lovely garden
Long way up to the top floor with no lift but staff carry your luggage up and down.

"We had a good time overall. The hotel was charming."
The staff were lovely. The hygeine and service was excellent
The water in the shower was only tepid. My friends booked directly with hotel and got 3 nights B&B plus dinner for £210.00 I booked on line and was charged £285.00 plus I had to pay for my dinner also. I feel I was ripped off. I will not be booking on line again.

The room was better than I expected and the service and politeness of staff was great.
The bathroom was very small and when had a shower had to put a towel down on the floor at the shower screen was not a secure waterproof seal, There was nail clippings on the carpet

Friendly and welcoming. Excellent food. Good value. Personal approach of this family run hotel is warm and genuine.

"The whole ambience was like a glorified B & B. The cramped bedroom spoilt the whole weekend."
Breakfast was very good. During the cold weather when we were there the hotel was generally nice and warm.
The double room was very tiny and there was no room to put luggage without falling over it. The bathroom was also very cramped with a half sized bath and a shower that only had one pressure - full.

"The proprietors were wonderful, helpful at every turn and added tremendously to the enjoyment of our stay. The lounge/bar area with it's fireplace and warm decor were immediately inviting. The restaurant was wonderful from every aspect. The room was spotless and very welcoming with a couple rubber bath toys to set a playful tone. This hotel is a getaway destination all on it's own, especially for adult couples looking for a romantic escape. If I was to find one shortcoming, it would be the distance from downtown Chester and especially the train. However, I would willingly pay the taxi fare and stay here again."
The quintessential English B&B. Welcoming atmosphere, great food, delightful proprietors.
Too far from train station
