Excellent check-in. arrived late at night but reception was superb. Upgraded to executive room - a nice touch Very comfortable bed and pillows. Quiet room. A good nights sleep.
Breakfast. Good grief it was dreadful. Several people had to wait to be seated and I asked a waitress in the end if she coud locate someone else to seat us. Food choices have deteriorated greatly since we last stayed. Nice to see the nutrition information, but what happened to healthy choices such as wholemeal rolls? Quantity wise - all was excellent, but I do think it would be nice to have some heathier options. The meat and cheese platter looked very sorry for itself. The meat had dried and curled and the cheese was 'sweaty'. And how long should it take to obtain a cup of coffee? We had just holidayed at a 5 star hotel on Fuerteventura and expected more. Not up to the usual Hilton standards. Bathroom was okay, but really should have been cleaner.

"With a different room it would probably have been fine, but the stinky room put us off a bit. Nonetheless the other facilities are perfectly adequate for an overnight/transit stay, baseline average for a business/airport hotel. I expect I'll be in it for business again soon enough but hopefully not in a room that smells so bad!"
The hotel's practically inside the check-in area for the airport, less than five minutes from reception to flight check in desk. It's perfectly adequate for an overnight stay, with a very good restaurant, albeit a pricey one.
The room stank, utterly stank. The hotel couldn't or wouldn't change the room as they were fully booked. The dreadful smell woke us up at points during the night but we were really only in the room for a few hours before boarding an early morning flight we put up with it.

That the problem below was sorted out well by your Duty Manager, A Starr and friendlyness was a credit to the Hilton.
Booking online cost of room was £97 and amount withdrawn from my bank account was £113. Which was the wrong amount and took time to sort out at the reception desk.

Walking distance from terminal meaning no transfer costs or waiting Easy free Pickup No short stay parking costs Breakfast Included and the service was polite and helpful No extra costs I witnessed the staff managing a group from the Army who were adjudged to have a member of the group who had over indulged and was noticeably playfull by preventing the sale of alcohol to the whole group and managed it with polite quiet sucessful professionalism.
A little extra cost against other local hotels but on balance the costs offset by the good points. A nice touch would have been a real ale - not refrigerated Boddingtons beer - or even draught guiness would have gone halfway to a non lager. drinker...following a holiday abroad these things are hard to find...a bit like a good cup of tea...

Friendly, helpful staff: I was on crutches after a skiing accident and therefore heavily reliant on the staff for assistance. They were extremely accommodating of all my requests for help.
Restaurant food could be improved.

Amy's Restaurant at the hotel was a surprise delight. The menu was varied and flavorful. The staff was attentive and quite pleasant. Proximity to South Gatwick Terminal.

The location
The room wasn't very clean, there were still stray hairs in the bathroom and the blanket on the bed was filthy and visibly stained. The furnishings were very old, dingy and outdated.

How quiet the hotel is, being right in the flight path, and never hearing the incoming flights even though you could see them arriving ! Also very comfortable. Extra convenient for walkway to terminal.
Ordered Breakfast in bed and unfortunately everything was cold, cold fried food is NOT very palletable, and cold toast is like cardboard ! However evening meal was terrific value and very yasty.

Very close to terminal at Gatwick for onward flight in the morning.
Room was very old and tired. Lights did not work, no cups for making tea/coffee.
