"We were more than satisfied."
Good room. Availability of the computer was great and appreciated. Breakfast was excellent as was the service at breakfast.
While not really a bad point; combining television, radio, computer, etc on the computer means that only one is accessible at any one time and the system operates quite slowly i.e., changing channels. There was no information in the room about the hotel, its facilities or about Manchester and what is available in the area. We could not access the computer system to find out about the hotel when we were in the room.

Imac locked up frequently & needed to be rebooted. The room was clean but not spotless - headboard dusty, glass not washed, stained carpet. Only one cream, shampoo etc was fine but felt mean. Breakfast tended to be lukewarm at best

The presentation of the rooms are very nice, the staff are very friendly & seem helpful. I have stayed there before & will stay there again...
This is being picky.There was only 1 toilet roll & face cloth. In the room service menu there was a page missing that we brought to the attention of the staff & was never actually changed. There was not the tv channels that they have advertised.

"Fair to Good -- restaurant food was good and good value for money. Have tried to book again for October but found price has shot up to over £200 per night. That is not within my business budget which is a shame as I would have liked to stay again."
Rooms are nice size, pleasantly decorated and well equipped. Food in restaurant was very good and good price. Staff were friendly. good location neat main station and shopping centre.
In the first room I was given several of the lights did not work and the aircon switch didn't work either -- I was given another room but the poor maintenance of the first room did cause inconvenience. Furthermore one of the three lifts was out of order, as apparently was the staff lift -- as a result there were long waits for the lifts + room service trolleys etc added additional burden to the 2 functioning lifts.

"The City Inn Manchester is an efficiently-run, economically-priced modern hotel, where timely service delivery is paramount. As a world traveller for some 25 years, I am pleasantly surprised that such a gem is available close to home."
1. Proximity to Manchester Piccadilly railway station - 1 minute as advertised. 2. Number of staff available at long check-in counter prevented queues at peak times in evidently popular hotel. 3. Cleanliness in room, and in public areas was first-class. 4. En-suite room was well furnished, with abundant facilities and equipment, including free internet. 5. Again, the number of available staff, all with distinctive roles, at breakfast, allowed for efficient turnover of customers at peak times.
I felt the breakfast tariff was rather expensive, although I could not fault the quality, nor the service.

Very pleasant, helpful staff. High standard of cleanliness. Lovely room.
Single duvet covers on single beds. These are just not suitable for a large adult. Every time I turned over the duvet disappeared onto the floor.

the staff were excellent in every way - [check in, bar / restaurant and the house keeping staff all great.]very friendly towards the 9 year old - engaged with him and us very very well.
thought the room was a little small! no family rooms, so when we got the extra bed in for the child the room was cramped.couldnt imagin staying in that size room for more than 2 nights.

Location Friendly and inmformative staff at check in. Clean and comfortable, warm and quiet room...as requested Broadband and CD/DVD options, although didn't get a chance to use them on this occasion. Clean and powerful Iron..unusual in ,most hotels Goopd sized shower cubicle with sufficient power shower.
Bigger tv/computer monitor would have been good. Larger work desk would also have been helpful No complimentary water

"The hotel is good, new and clean and the staff are polite and helpful. However, we felt a serious lack of supervision. Although the AC is performing horribly, unfortunately the staff have got used to it and just move the guests between rooms. There was no action taken to improve the status of the fresh fruits and no feedback was provided to us about our complaint."
The staff are good. Rooms are clean. Facility is new.
The air-condition is miserable. We had to relocate between room three times because the AC failed every time heating system and there was no technician around to fix it. In one instance on a sunday morning almost all the fruits on the breakfast buffet table were smelling rotten. Apparantly one of the fruits were spoiled and no attempt was done to separate it from the rest of the food. this was brought to the attention of one the waiters that she apologized for it. However, no action was taken to remove the spoiled fruits during the next one hour that we were still there at the restaurant. A similar odor could be smelt from the fresh fruit buffet on the next two days no supervision on the food?!

"Overall, very good. First night slightly spoilt by inconsiderate people but when reported to the manager the next day, he was very apologetic and helpful. A goodwill gesture, eg a bottle of wine might have added to this!"
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall, the room standard was good as were public areas of the hotel.
Could hear people in room above, having an argument. My friend and I were woken by people running along the corridors between 4am and 4.30 and banging on bedroom doors.

"Disappointing 5 star hotel. Bad publicity on arrival 'stay two nights from £75 per night including breakfast. We paid £109 and £125 for the Sunday and Monday nights without breakfast. OK our rooms were booked separately but the system did not highlight advantage of booking two nights."
Breakfast in room came on time, lifts good availability
Room was not cleaned on second day. We were out of the room from 11am until 3pm and again from 5pm till 11pm. We felt that someone had been in the room and used things from the fridge and left the television on. Breakfast in room was disappointing. There was no cured meat as indicated on the booking form, the tropical fruit salad was melon and a square of pineapple and cold milk for the muesli was not supplied as requested.Did not partake of breakfast on the second morning!
