Great location, friendly staff, lovely room
Bathroom was a bit small, but was fine for us.

Clean, friendly, good breakfast, powerful shower with good temperature control. The owner gave us good recommendations for local restaurants. There is an off-street car park.
A minor point: breakfast was a bit slow. This could be improved by having jugs of coffee and milk laid out for everyone to use, rather than these having to be fetched individually for each table.

"I felt that the accommodation was satisfactory. The breakfast time could have been a little more flexable not everyone likes to be up very early on holiday. The hotel was clean and the staff were very pleasent. The bedroom was quite small but did the purpose for our short stay. If you were to be there for a week or so I would feel the room would have just been on the small side. Our stay was pleasent and enjoyable."
it wasclose to transport and was within walking distance of all amenities
it was adaquet for the length of our stay.

"The accomadation was great and the owners and staff friendly. The breakfast was excellent, the choice of fruit and cereal was great and the fried breakfast was not greasy. Overall a lovely place to stay."
It was very clean, comfortable and the room was cool.

"liked the overall friendliness. Would have liked to know just how far out of town centre this was. When we booked it we thought by the details it was closer but this would not stop us booking again. Parking is a bit tight for the larger car. Travel instructions where great and helped us to find the hotel with no problem."
Friendly welcome we received from staff.
A bit far from centre of town

"We were informed that we could check in at 9am, but the room was not ready when we arrived at lunchtime. We booked a four poster room presuming it would be a superior room, but this was not available when we arrived. We were not told that there was a credit card fee when we booked. The selection of breakfast advertised was not fully available."
The room we booked was not available. The ensuite facilities were a bit dingy and basic.

The rooms were comfortable and spotless. Food was home cooked and excellent. Richard,Jenny and Norma were helpful and friendly. The location was great. A 10 min walk into the City. We were provided with a tourist map of the area with suggestions as to places to visit and eat which was extremely useful.

very good location
bed was uncomfortable. also thought it strange that full payment was asked on arrival usually we are asked for a deposit then payment is then settled at end of stay. What would have happened if things were not as they should be.

"Overall a very pleasant stay. the hotel is about 15mins walk from the centre of york and about 25 casual minutes to the Minster. We could have spent more time there as there is agreat deal to see. At least two nights are required."
The room was pleasant and of adequate size. The bed was comfortable and the breakfast was very good with a choice of cereals, fruit, juices and a good cooked breakfast. The staff were very pleasant.
The shower was not controllable it was very hot and could not be cooled. This can be easily fixed.
