Well decorated with comfortable room, the restaurant was good but choice a little limited and my meal somewhat disappointing.

Walk from hotel to SPA in freezing cold

"A good visit but dinner did not justify the cost"

Reception staff knowledgeable and helpfull. Excellent leisure club and swimming pool

Main waiters in restaurant. Untidy dress and not well trained. Shirts hanging out telephones etc hanging from back pockets. Looked like a building site worker. The waiters from the kitchen were far better trained/capable. Very polite and served bread , cleared plates etc with care

    Excellent all round standard.

Strange idea having windows into the bathroom, glad we didn't have visitors whilst showering. Could have had a main vegetarian choice at breakfast e.g veggie sausages.

    "Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves"

Loved the spa and gym facilities.

There was no power point near the mirror which made it difficult to do my hair.

"I was there for an exam so a good nights sleep was imperative and once we changed rooms the stay was good, the breakfast buffet was excellent"

when we asked to move rooms, this was dealt with efficiently and very quickly.

With the wedding party going on at the hotel, unfortunately the music was at a level where you could hear and feel the music although we were 2 floors up.

"It was great and provided we got a quiet room would go again."

Overall the facilities were great and the staff were helpful.

The downside to the stay was that there was a young party staying in the room opposite who were using bad language, banging doors and partying until well into the early hours of the morning and we had to complain about the noise, which of course was not the hotel's fault but was quite annoying.

"not as good as i had hoped but certainly good enough for an overnight stay"

spa facilities, quality of food, friendly staff

lots of flies in our room when we arrived! bad signing - people wandering around lost

"Overall a nice hotel but extremely high price for what you got. Did not rate it as a four star"

Hotel extremely efficient and staff friendly

Room was very small and airless. Did not seem to have been cleaned before arrival as apart from dust on sides there were clothes left in cupboard from previous guests.

"Only downside of stay was a windowless room apart from very high skylights, when advertised as rooms with woodland views."

  • 80% Work Associates

Food was excellent, service was polite, responsive and friendly. Clean, lovely rooms and very comfortable.

Only downside was that we had requested a twin room, and were given a double. An adjustment was promised but this hadn't been down by the time we got back from lunch. It was, however, quickly rectified.

    Leisure facilities were good

Room had no windows only a sky light which also meant that we were unable to open them. The air conditioning in our room was very temperamental and kept switching off therefore we found that our room was very hot and claustrophobic at times. Not very pleased overall.

"Breakfast could be improved... The tea was dreadful, cooked breakfast no fried or boiled eggs. Overall like hotel..."

    Beds very comfortable.

No sockets in room to charge mobiles etc... Can't get a good mobile phone signal in hotel we have various suppliers; 3, virgin and orange.

"Excellent. Staff were welcoming, helpful, couteous and friendly. The food in the restaurent was delicious and service was perfect. We were treated like royalty. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. Location was brilliant - beautiful, peaceful surroundings but close to city and a easy 20 minute drive to the airport. The large free car park was a definite bonus. Wanted to stay longer. We'll be back"

The rooms, location, staff, food all excellent. Couldn't fault.

    "Good."

    peace, comfort, cleanliness

electrical points are not in the best places in the room ie for hairdryer/mirror and making tea. Window was too small in loft suite

Location close to where we was attending - local university where my child is studying.

Price of Food £18.00 - £25.00 with out any side orders. Had we had a meal at the Hotel it would have cost around £90.00 - £100.00 for the 3 of us, therefore it would cost about £200.00 plus for the weekend.

the first room we weere allocated had only skylights, and the phone did not work. When we moved room the receptionist cancelled the wrong card,so we couldnt transfer our bags. When we asked if she could have it done she agreed only reluctantly. Breakfast was appalling. The instant coffee that was self service. Nothing was hot. We had to request four items during the meal as they had run out and not been replaced.cups, butter, eggs, bread.

"Facilities are very good / service adequate."

Excellent Food and service in the Main Restaurant. The Venison was fantastic.

In the Bar Area we were served warm wine, large glass when a small glass was ordered, no guacamole or sour cream served with the Nachos, no mango chutney or mint sauce served with the Thai Curry. Room was quite noisy above restaurant at night so kept awake.

"Good, but next time I would ask if there is not another wedding in this case I would choose a different hotel"

    Nice hotel

Unfortunately the same evening there was a wedding and the music was very loud until 12.00 p.m., so impossible to sleep before.

"I most definately use you again and recommend the hotel. A covered walkway and or even pavement from the hotel to the spa would have been appreciated. The health club and spa were tremendous."

The quality of the facilities were excellent my only request would be, why charge for wireless access i the rooms? I know it is free in the lobby but it would have been brilliant had this been the case in the room.

I know you are a very high quality hotel but sometimes i belive this can make the staff aloof. Especially one lady on reception who was barely civil when I had problems with the internet in my room and a lost credit card. Any stranger would have shown some compasion however this individual was quite detached as to my plight. The rest of the reception were very pplite and friendly.

    "Very good"

    Excellent facilities, food & service

The lift was out of order during my stay and I also experienced a problem with the room key card which was speedily resolve by the reception staff.

    "adequate"

rooms were pleasent and clean- enjoyed a lovely bath

officious restaurant staff -even though restaurant was almost empty they only wanted us to use a particular menu in there - whereas a few feet away the 'lounge menu' could only be used in that area. In addition the service and waiting for the food - really spoilt the evening - as a result I can definitely say I would not recommend the hotel itself. In fact - we did not stay for breakfast because we could n't bear the thought of same treatment in the morning.

Spa area and gym etc excellent. Very friendly, helpful staff. Beds very comfortable. Good rain shower over the bath.

Lighting in rooms quite dark. Didn't find mirror in desk until after I had put my make up on and dried my hair. Service in the sports bar was enthusiastic if a little disorganised.

"I would never stay there again because nobody bothered to get back to us with an apology or explanation."

hotel situation, proximity to airport, evening meal on night of arrival , midsummer ball, very comfortable bed!

saturday night without sleep, rowdy guests nearby, fire alarm went off had to ring reception for clarification of situation complained next morning and received no explanations. we went to the club for a light meal saturday evening we waited for a half an hour to be served I went to the bar to ask if you ordered from bar but was told that he would take it from the table but we waited another 20 minutes he did'nt come to the table the place was practically empty at the time we just got up and left.

"For a business traveller, the hotel offered a comfortable room in a pleasant location at a very good rate. I got a good night's sleep."

Good location. Spacious and quiet apart from occasional aircraft noise. Ample car parking. Leisure club looked good, although I did not have chance to use it.

Online movie system very slow to load and some titles simply got lost. Also paid for internet access, expecting wireless hookup, only to find I needed a cable, which I had not brought with me. First room I was given had not been cleaned at all - bed unmade, dirty towels etc. But problem was resolved quickly and I was given an upgrade.

Lighting above bathroon mirror positioned badly and no mirror above dresser/desk made applying make-up difficult.

    Cleanliness, location, leisure facilities

I booked a taxi to take me to a local restaurant - distance of less than 2 miles and was charged £12 one way. Be aware that there is an extremely limited local taxi service and very expensive.

Lovely location and close to the M5

Cafe/Bar was in leisure complex. Poured down with rain and staff unable to offer any umbrellas to walk back to hotel. No access apart from outside

    All of it

It was necessary to move the tea making tray as the place where it stands is very dark. This was a minor issue though.

"The hotel had excellent facilities and the room was very comfortable. I would certainly recommend this hotel for the business traveller and leisure stay."

The room was finished to a high standard especially when considering the low room rate cost. You'd be paying far more for this level of accomodation in other hotel chains!! Visitor hotel names withheld to protect the guilty.

The heating / aircon was a little too loud but not a real problem. The only other extra that may have been useful would be a mini bar.

"The whole service was fantastic. There were a few little niggly things that need to be sorted but they do not ruin the stay in any way, just learning curves for the personnel involved. The therapists in the spa certainly know their stuff and everything within the club was working which i think is very rare these days. The food from the lounge to the restaurant was all very tasty with knowledgeable servers. A very enjoyable and relaxing stay. Highly recommended."

Large, clean rooms and the large open plan rooms throughout the whole hotel were very relaxing.

"This was a faultless hotel we have stayed in many over the years from the USA to Egypt, France and Spain and all over the UK. This is by far the best hotel we have enjoyed, beating many top London Hotels....."

The overall decor was fantastic, modern, edgy but classic with plenty of attention to detail

We only had one night to enjoy it ! we could have stayed the rest of the year but our work may have become a bit concerned !!!

"Overall I was very disapointed with the hotel. Our experience started well but went down hill from there. We ordered room service twice the food was luke warm and on the first night arrived with no silverwear or napkin on the second night the food was again cold why serve a square plate if you only have round covers? We ordered a beer which did not arrive and after I called and it was brought up I was charged another 2.00 for the room service fee. We asked for a replacement hot chocolate sache 4 times and was eventually given a box of chocolates which we were then charged 5 ponds for. We took the bikes however the staff were unsure of the codes for the locks and it took ages to sort out. The hotel has no shop selling spa equipment-We forgot our swimming costumes so could use the facilities as there was nowhere local to buy some."

    Good sized room, nice view

Window in the bathroom was odd, very uncomfrotable bed, no mini bar, no bath robes which I would expect from a spa

"From the moment we checked in, an hour early, we were treated wonderfully. We are surprised to find such a hidden gem of a hotel and will be going back, especially as it is central to great activities/sights. A litttle quirky, but we liked that and the food in the retaraunt was excellent. No faults to be found. Well done to the hotel and the staff."

Very upmarket considering the cost. Staff very polite and well groomed. Restaraunt facilities excellent. A cut above the usual travel lodge accommodation

    Could not fault it
