Good location. Friendly and helpful staff.
Room a bit small and noisy.

"Avoided the room atall cost and would not reccommend to anyone"
Staff were very friendly, Hotel bar area was very pleasing
Hand made beds were rediculous, I asked for a double room for a romantic night away with my fiancee but ended up with two singles that would not push together as the base was too small for the matress and i kept falling off the bed, also 89.00 was veryu steep for the standard of accomodation

"For the cost, not bad at all."
Excellent breakfast.
Would have liked a top sheet. Needed to ask for adequate towels.

"Really good. Friendly staff and large adequate rooms,"
Fantastic staff at check in and check out. I think her name was Lisa. Her smile and thoughtfulness were excellent.
Quite bad damp areas on ceiling in bathroom room 316 and it wasnt spotless.

"I had a great stay and a great visit to York, thank you for doing your bit in making it happen."
Friendly helpful staff made checking in and out a painless experience. They even looked after my bag after I had checked out so that I could go for a tourist walkabout before heading home.

"good experience but wouldnt want to stay for more than 1 or 2 nights"
Nice Decor, mostly friendly staff. Good evening meal
Extractor fan didnt work in bathroom, Shower went hot when you turned tap towards cold. lady at check out was brusque to say the least. In a town like york I would have expected at least one bitter as an alternative to lager

"Good, fairly good location but the rooms were quite basic give this hotel is at the upper price range of Ibis hotels."
Reception and bar area looked modernised and new
Rooms were quite basic and looked like they needed a renovation like the downstairs area.

"Our only problem was the shower in our room. The water was only just warm on the Saturday night and on Sunday morning the water was cold. We rang reception who came up to our room and offered the use of the shower next door."
The staff were very friendly and helpful

"It was clean and the bathroom was newly decorated. The bar staff in the evening were very friendly and very polite. We stayed longer in the bar than we probably would have normally because of it. There was no black out blindin the room and the bed was a piece of hardboard with a matress on top! The quilt cover didn't fit the quilt and hug over the edge. The check in staff were very surly and if it wasn't for friends who had already checked in, we would have had to go back and ask where our room was and how to get to it. The room was VERY small, so much so the tv was stuck to the wall and very difficult to see!! You can pay extra for films and internet, but it's very expensive. There is some parking, but you have to get there very early to get it. We checked in at 12 noon and the car park was full so we had to drive around the corner and park. If you don't have a car, then it's within walking distance from the station and walking distance to the town. We didn't pay for the breakfast opting instead to go to the local Witherspoons for a much bigger and cheaper breakfast. It's ok for 1 night, but I wouldn't want to stay any longer."
It was clean and the bathroom was newly decorated. Its a good location for central york.
No parking

"We had a very nice time at the Ibis York and would gladly use the hotel again should the need arise. Good, clean facilities and friendly staff. Breakfast served until 12 noon - good for us late risers after a night on the Town, and nothing was too much trouble, the Breakfast Chef was a really nice man and went all out to cater to our needs."
The hotel was clean and modern and the staff were very very nice, especially the breakfast chef who couldn't do enough for us.
The shower was not very powerful it felt like having a shower in slow-motion.

"The staff were very helpful. The food was expensive, and you didn't get much. The internet in the room was difficult to use."
The staff were great.
The radiators were disconnected! And they had electric heaters above the door which didn't produce any heat.

The room was very spacious and clean.
The carpets in the room were cheap, like kitchen floor tiles and the walls were bare, could have done with a couple of pictures. As the room was so big the heating provided was not overly brilliant.

Lack of car parking!!! Very frustrating...had to park the train station, some 5 minutes walk away which cost 12 pounds for the night!

"A good standard and in a good location for the price. Value for money. Will be much better when the building work has finished. Walking distance to shopping centre and race course."
The accommodation was a good standard for an inner city hotel. There are some renovation works taking place, but that aside the stay was good.
The heating system has an annoying hum, but the staff and the builders were charming.

"excellent stay"
it is in a good location and has very spacious rooms which were very comfortable
i know it has to be done but the refurbishment made the hotel look a little untidy other than that it was excellent
from Motherwell UK, stayed on October 22, 2007
"Will probably be a very good hotel when finished, but would have welcomed an email message before visit outlining the nature/stage of the work undertaken."
Reasonably priced, very good location.
Under refurbishment, it was a bit chaotic and cleanliness was just adequate: dusty, etc
from Wisbech UK, stayed on September 26, 2007
"I would like to have known that major refurbishment was going ahead. The staff have to multi task and seem to have to do all the jobs, i.e. bar, chef, reception etc."
Room was clean, staff were friendly [but over worked]
Hotel was being refurbished therefore it was mostly building every where apart from out room. The staff were over worked.

"This Ibis is not up to the standard of other hotels in the chain that we have stayed at in the past. Also very expensive."
Newly refurbished bathroom
Lack of variety of hot breakfast food. Had an evening meal in one night - ordinary. Room was small and floor was filthy. No storage space.
