"Hotel was in ideal location for what we wanted. Staff were friendly and efficient they had to be as there weren't many people working and everything was clean. Overall impression was this was a nice hotel which could be much better with some investment."
Staff excellent, very good breakfast, comfy bed.
Steak meal was disappointing, bedroom was a bit 'tired' even though we went for the executive four poster room.Location of TV meant it was hard to watch from the bed.

"The hotel is only a short distance away from the motorway and from the outside looks very smart. Unfortunately, the inside of the hotel is extremely dated and is in need of some tlc. During a particularly heavy rainfall at breakfast, we found out the reason for the various ice buckets situated throughout the conservatory - the joints in the conservatory roof leaked! Most of the staff were very helpful however the reception cover was very poor which was particularly frustrating as there is a policy of leaving your room key at reception when you leave the hotel at any time during your visit. Overall, the hotel was adequate for a base for a long weekend however the cost of the stay was not justified by the hotel."
Good location near motorway so easily accessible. Helpful staff when available. Adequately clean.
Reception cover was poor - it often took ages to find someone to deal with any queries. Inside the hotel, the rooms needed some tlc. Rooms at the front of the hotel could also hear the motorway traffic.

"We throughly enjoyed our stay, especially our room with the four poster bed, which was a real treat. "
The room was superb with a lovely four poster bed and nice sized room with dressing table.
The check in was a bit disappointing as we had to ring the bell three times in order to get someone to come and book us in. The hose for the shower was not long enough and not the correct hose for the shower. Also there was no holder on the wall for the shower and you had to wash whilst holding in the shower in another hand, which was extremely difficult.

"I would definately visit again, although the shower facilities see above took the edge of the room. The welcome from the receptionist when we arrived was a bit cool and again didn't create a great first impression for me."
The room was lovely- well laid out and clean. Views were great. One of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in.
The shower facilities over the bath ruined the room for me to be honest - the mixer switch didn't stay in place and there was no hook on the wall to fix it in place when in use so it was impossible not to get water everywhere that was inbetween having to keep fiddling with the switch to keep the water coming throught the shower head

"The hotel rooms need substantial money spent on them to bring them up to scratch and in spite of the food and staff being OK, I won't stay there again!"
The TV worked, the staff were friendly and the food was OK.
Room was very tired and in urgent need of refurbishment! For example, shower was off a mixer tap over the bath, the temperature changed as you raised the shower head and there was no shower curtain so the floor got soaked.

"Perfectly situated, generally well maintained, especially the new wing. Friendly staff, excellent breakfast and good value for money. We would stay here again next time we are in the area."
large, airy room with good ensuite excellent power shower very clean and well maintained.
the hallways and general feel of the place was a little dated. We were pleased to be in one of the newer rooms.

"Overall my wife & I were very pleased with our stay. Good food service and location. Many thanks we will definately be visiting you again."
Friendly staff, excellant room and very good breakfast
Strange odour in upstairs corridor leading to new end of buildingthat was a cross between cigarette smoke and air freshener. Radio not functioning in room.

"I think checkout time is to early and Sunday breakfast finished far to early."
Good people and nice room
Being phoned at 9.20 am to tell us breakfast was about to finish and then again at 10 to tell us to check out. In all the hotels I have stayed at I have never had to check out untill 12 at the earliest.

Exec Rooms appear new and are Spacious, well equiped & spotlessly clean. Any noise from traffic is completely obliterated when the window is shut. Beds are comfortable and all plumbing efficient.

"Disappointing as we used to visit this hotel on numberous occasions in the past and we were looking forward to our stay there. Becuase of our experience on our return to Somerset we would be very hesitant to rebook this hotel. "
Presentation at breakfast table was excellent. Breakfast was first class and the service was both friendly and effecient.
There was no offer when checking in to help with luggage. Had to struggle along a narrow corridor with dust sheets and cables. General appearance of hotel was shabby and tired. First impressions were poor dead hanging baskets at the entrance door and a shabby looking reception area. Because of this and the general appearance of the hotel we decided not to book any evening meals. However as already mentioned we were more than pleasantly surprised at the standard at breakfast.
