"The hotel is tiny, easy to find and has good food as well as all the basics needed. Lovely people from the manager to the maitre de to the lady in charge of breakfasts.."
great staff and lovely intimate atmosphere. Friendly geordies and near to everything
Needs a bit of general maintenance but where doesn'T- especially when times are as tight as they are now

Good location, good breakfast and helpful waitress
When we checked in they asked us to pay, staff had no idea the room had been paid for when booking made via the website website. They were reluctant to accept that payment had been made. Very poky room, hardly room to swing a cat!

Friendly staff. Clean room. Interesting characterful decor.

"A comfortable night. Excellent breakfast. Slightly marred stay by the arrival points as mentioned above."
Excellent morning staff who helped with transport arrangements when it snowed and taxi was delayed.
On arrival room had cigarette butt down the toilet and a half empty lager can on the bedroom floor. There was a double bed matress leaning against the wall outside the bedroom door making access to the room tricky this was removed on request.

The only good point of the stay was the very good Tapas restaurant on the bottom floor. As someone else stated on the reviews, the owner obviously focuses more on the restaurant rather than the hotel.
Many bad points... they tried to give us a room with only two twins when we clearly paid for a family room with a queen and a twin. We had to strongly protest to get what we paid for, and then it was only a double bed, not a queen one. The beds were terrible... horrible mattresses, and cramped in the room. The sheets and covers were probably bought from a second hand store. The stairwell had a beer odor... very rank. The room appeared somewhat clean, but filthy if you took a close look at it.

"i think the pictures don't give a clear presentation of how the rooms actually are. They look clean and modern but this was not the case."

Good location and amiable staff.
The room which I had was directly above the hotels bar which was noisy until about midnight. The breakfast the following morning was terrible. Microwaved Hashbrowns the texture of cardboard and eggs that looked like they had been deefried. The cereal and fruit was fine, but I was expecting a good hot breakfast and was dissapointed.

"the staff were very friendly and helpful, the restaurant within the hotel was great, the walk to the metro is only down the road, breakfast is a buffet of what you would expect along with the full english option, in all the stay was ***** quality."
