"Really good stay. Had a very busy day before we got to the hotel and it was a pleasure to get to at the end of that day!"
Very good service, very clean and really nicely decorated. Temperature of room was excellent hotels are normally boiling!. Ordered some room service which was really good and fairly quick - worth the wait, though! Breakfast was lovely and tables were cleared away very quickly so there was no waiting. They were very bust but we hardly noticed!
Only bads point would be a slight lack of parking although we had no problem got the last space! and it wasn't very well lit outside so we nearly missed it

"An average stay which could have been made much better by re-allocaion of our room to one which doesn't sit above the restaurant and has a good working bathroom. "
Great check in service although the restaurant we were recommended to was very poor do not go to the Thai restaurant, great breakfast too.
Taps in bathroom did not work, very poor pressure in the shower. Room over the restaurant very noisy and very very warm!

"Pleasant comfortable experience"
Excellent clean rooms. Helpful cheerful staff. Breakfast tables cleared promptly and ready for re-use. Location was convenient. Town centre easily accessible by car and public transport. Free parking.
Occasionally car parking difficult, I believe due to adjoining restaurant customers who also use same car park. However we did not find it a problem most of the time.

"I would not book another hotel online trough yourselves purely due to the disruption of our stay"
Nice enough hotel and staff, but too noisey
Although we had no problem with the hotel itself, the staff, room etc, we did have serious concerns about the noise. There was a party in the function room which went on until the early hours. They were extremely noisey, both during and after the party had finished, with th police being called to calm the situation down. When we had checked out the next morning, we found that 'someone' had 'bounced' on the roof of our car and put a crease in it. I must also add that the car park was full and we could not park in a designated parking place as the guests attending the party ad taken up all spaces. Something other hotel guests were complaining about. This would have been a very relaxing overnight stay had it not been for the noise and upset, especially the damage to my car!

Very happy with majority of hotel and its staff
Where were the complimentary biscuits, and not enough teabags etc, lol Second mornings breakfast was delayed as poor staff overworked

"Very nice, only flaw was the noise from the cafe bar next door."
Friendly, good state of repair, comfortable, accomodating staff and close to local amenities.
One of the reasons for choosing this hotel was that the description said it would be quiet. This was not the case as the music from the cafe bar next to the hotel was very annoying at night.

"Good. Would recommend it for a stop over. Way mainly impressed by the friendly and informative staff and how clean the room was."
Very, very clean! I could have eaten off the floor in the bathroom. It really makes a difference. Hotel room was quiet and the bed was comfortable.
None really. Except it was a bit tight moving around between the bed and the bathroom, but fine for a few nights stay.

"Overall good value for money"
Pleasant staff & clean rooms.
Breakfast was good but the use of very small plates seemed mean.

"It was a smart hotel and did the job fine but, at £80, a little overpriced for the room size. If I go there again which I might, I will probably try for a better deal. £50 would probably have been a fairer price."
Perfectly located, easy to book, good wireless internet, nice big bathroom, and I liked the people I dealt with. Breakfast was fine too, and the free copies of the Independent were a nice touch.
My single bedroom was a bit small, dark and stuffy.

"Excellent value for money, one of the best hotel experiences we have had in the UK"
Good sized rooms for this price. Good location for visiting university. On-site carparking. Good breakfast included in room rate. Room large enough to fit 3 beds comfortably. Free wireless internet in room.

"Very good. Very good value."
Happy warm welcoming staff.
Warm room meant having the window open, which then gave rise to noise disturbance through the night from passing party goers.

"Pleasant"
Excellent restaurant and breakfast provision.
No lunchtime or evening restaurant facilities. Not able to receive radio on TV Staff apologised and explained why

Bed. Room size. Handy for Southampton Uni
Shower not working had bath instead for which I had time fortunately. TV analogue only and poor picture. Breakfast - food too long under hot lights - eggs looked done to rubber, black pudding looked dried up. Internet access slow and insufficient for Skype-phone

"Will recommend the hotel to others and will be returning."
Excellent hotel. Have used this hotel before but noticed the excellent buffet breakfast has now been allocated smaller plates! Didn't take away from the fare. If you arrive between 9.00 - 9.30 the fresh fruit is depleted and chef clears buffet at 9.30 prompt! Visitorwise will return again and again. Room and bathroom excellent with free safe facility in room for jewellery, elec goods you don't want to carry around all day. The Hotel cafe bar attached next door was a wonderful way to unwind in the sun on their terrace.
The shower in the room was reported as having a temp control problem, otherwise nothing bad to complain about.

"Excellent value for money"
All good. The only weak point, if I'm being picky, is that at breakfast the tea and coffe came from a machine
Being picky, lack of lift and the view from the room

"an expensive way to use a room"
room was clean and modern
room was far too hot and it was not possible to open the window more than a couple of inches. The staff could barely speak english, the room was not cleaned whilst I was there for a 3 day stay over. The staff in the breakfast room in the morning were conspicous by their absence, and were reluctant to offer pots of tea rather than for guests to use the coffee machine. There was no facility for room service even although the hotel literature in the bedrooms said there was.

"We were generally very pleased."
The breakfast was very good with a wide choice and the service was good.
Maintenance on the rooms should be improved, our room we could not shut the window due to faulty catches.

good breakfast, free paper, friendly staff, clean bathroom
poorly maintained room - tv mount loose and prro reception on many channels, main window not sealing properly so lots of noise from outside.
from Loughborough UK, stayed on June 1, 2008
"The most important issue with this hotel is that it does not have a lift. My mother, who is 78 and suffers with shortness of breath when undertaking any form of exertion had some difficulty negotiating the winding and up and down nature of the stairs. The lack of lift facilities should be made more clear during the booking process. The room we had was nice, clean, and tidy, with adequate facilities. However, it was situated at the rear of the hotel overlooking the street below. This led to a lack of sleep due to the excessive noise of traffic and pedestrians wending their way home from the pubs or clubs. This, added to the metal bins from the hotel being rolled around extremely noisily at 12:30am, was not conducive to getting a good night's sleep. If you need to be up very early in the morning in order to continue your journey make sure you do not have a room at the back."
The Accommodation was clean, tidy, and well presented. The staff were welcoming, polite, and efficient.
No lift, very noisy.

"Generally a decent hotel but have stayed places with more facilities for a similar price gym, pool"
very clean, smart, nice decor, friendly receptionist, good location, safe in room
room a bit small, a bit overpriced, ordered budvar from room service but got budweiser instead, breakfast low on some food items, no soap in bathroom
stayed on July 28, 2008
"I would not wish to stay in a similar room at your hotel if the weather was hot unless ventilation is remediated - please qualify the response to the next question"
Generally pleased with the people and facilities except for "bad points"
The day we stayed was particularly hot, the room had very limited ventilation with the window constrained to only opening two inches due to safety. There was no air conditioning or other means of ventilation. As such the room was extremely hot which made it difficult to get to sleep and to stay asleep.

"Would expect better for the star rating that this hotel has."
Clean rooms, good breakfast and friendly staff.
TV reception in rooms is very poor, no air con in rooms, Hotel does not have it's own bar but there is one next to it.
