"great, a very good apartment hotal"

excellent location, superb view, free parking

we stay there very often, and some king of loyalty discount would be great, but you can't really fault this place at all

"really good, pleasant walking distance to some good bars, and easy to find"

great location, and quite affordable for an apartment hotel

the "Double bed" was infact two singles pushed together, and not even made up as a double, with single bed sheets and single duvets. I'm not 13, so that was rubbish.

    "brilliant."

great location, beautiful riverside at night, and very affordable. Ideal for a group of friends needing to eat together with the kitchen facilities.

unfortunately the overflow on the sink was broken, but this was only a minor inconvenience.

"Thoroughly enjoyed the experience as we'd never used an apartment before. Would definitely do this again and for a longer stay. Loved the flexibility and comfort that the extra room provided. Staff were friendly and cheerful. Hotel and all facilities were clean and tidy. Didn't use all the equipment but all looked in good condition so we presume it all worked. "

More room than a normal hotel room but other than catering all other facilities are similar. Much better to relax in and more flexible regarding meals. Could cook to any level. Had toaster, microwave and full built in cooker, fridge and freezer and dish-washer. Also for longer stays, there was a washing machine and ironing board to help cut down on luggage. Towels were changed every two days and room cleaned every five.

Area a bit industrial and access from the Quayside a bit rough BUT near enough to the Sage, Baltic, the Biscuit Factory and a really interesting side of town. View from our windows poor with a plant hire company on one side and a moderately busy road through the main window. Perhaps to be expected as ours was a one bedroom apartment. Visitor rooms had a much better aspect as they faced the river. Despite some misgivings neither proved to be any problem at all and we slept very well.

"See above. we will be in Newcastle two nights a month for next 5 years and would stay again if price was similar"

We only stayed one night as visiting university but were very impressed that such things as washing powder and dishwashing powder was provided to tide you over if need be.

"Great. With children aged 6 and 11 an apartment is a fantastic way to enjoy a break."

excellent location. Provision of washing up liquid t-towel and oven glove was very thoughtful

Not enough hot water, sky + would have been appreciated

    "An excellent concept in accommodation."

Despite booking on the internet, and receiving a good rate, when we arrived we were advised that we were not "booked in". Fortunately I had my confirmation details with me. The receptionist commented that she had an available apartment, which was a 2 bed. What would have happened if she did not have a spare one?

"really enjoyed the stay loved the room "

Room was amazing was like our own little appartment hence the name was amazing the room the facilities and the view

was not keen that you had to walk around the side for entrance to rooms as guest was unable to use the lift. Also the room was meant to be checked on the 2nd day this did not happen

"Very enjoyable stay. Will definitely recommend to anyone. "

Excellent location of the City Centre apartments, friendly and helpful staff, tasteful decor of the rooms. Comparing with the hotel rooms available for the same price in Ncl, the apartments offer much better value.

Traffic noise during the night at the Q-side apartments almost unbearable for those who are not used to it. Had to move out of this location and was transferred to the City Apartments which were much quieter.

"Really great - I normally stay in Hotels when I am in Newcastle which i do frequently but now having experienced the flexibilty of enting an apartment I am not sure a Hotel would be my first choice!"

Staff were fantastic, very helpful and communicated clearly and fully.special mention must go to Neil Forster who is a fantastic asset. They updated us on all local attractions. The views from apartment were wonderful. Apartment was clean and fully equipped.

Bit far out if you wanted to be in city centre every night although only

"Would definately do an apartment again instead of a hotel. Thank you."

    All good

The only two things that prevented me from giving excellent on all items was that when I booked for the two nights the initial confirmation came back as one. When we arrived in our room, you could smell a very nasty personal smell. We bought two fragrant candles and the smell eventually dissappeared.

    "brilliant - would definitely recommend"

Modern, comfortable, well laid out, clean + bright, excellent value for money, spacious, very well equipped. All the facilities of a hotel, but the space to relax and eat whenever you want. Towels, toiletries and tea/coffee a very nice, unexpected touch.Ten minute walk to The Cumberland Arms - excellent pub and real ales! Great view of the river and Millenium bridge - stunning at night.

noisy road with windows open, no balcony furniture and would be nice to have partition between the two apartments on the balcony

Dishwasher out of order. Difficult to find!

    "See above."

I liked the space and ability to be self sufficient.

Very noisy road outside the Bedroom window and limited privacy on the road side. Also,I would have liked more detail of the rooms that had views over looking the river as I would have prefered to have booked one of these even if it meant extra expense.

  • 50% Individual on Business

from Alfreton UK, stayed on May 13, 2008

When making the booking I requested a room over looking the quayside. Unfortunately this was not communicated to the reception and had to have a room on the first floor next to the road this made my stay at the apartments poor because the road noise was VERY noisy due to the fact that the patio doors and windows did not shut fully. A secondary problem was that it was a very sunny week so the apartment was very hot because it was too noisy to open any windows more than the poor fitting gave. All in all a miserable week.

    Very spacious apartment. Comfortable beds

Carpets were worn. Hole in the plasterwork in the bedroom. Water wasn't very hot for a bath.

"Not the easiest place to find, but a stunning location with great views. Friendly staff although we were going to football match and a staff member forgot to book us a taxi. The rooms were good, very well finished. The kitchen lacked a few things, frying pan and dishwasher tablets. After a long trip it was nice to stay in a flat rather then a single room. I would defiantly consider staying in that style of accommodation again."

Clean, very well finished and a stunning view.

Hot water needs to be sorted out. Its fine if theres only one of you but more then 2 and you have to have cold showers.

"Overall, i found this accommodation superb and realy covenient. It was a two night stay for my girlfriend and i to spend some quality time together and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. It was within short distance of all the things we needed and we found the whole quayside experience excellent. The check-in was hassle free and only took a few minutes, the staff were extremely friendly. Overall i would recommend these apartments to anybody, be it a family with young children or the elderly. 10 out of 10."

Within short distance of all bars, shops and restaurants.

The standard of the facilty and the fact that it was walking distance to the quayside, which is where the social buzz of the city existed

    Nothing at all

"Apartments are a long way from restaurants etc but supermarkets are close by and you can order a takeaway."

Very contemporary. Fantastic views from the balcony

Lounge was FREEZING - had economy 7 heaters that obviously hadn't been switched on the previous night. Person on reception had no idea how to help

"I think this sort of accomodation is an excellent idea and is in my opion much better that staying in a hotel. The location of the apartments is good although a bit akward to find initally but not really a problem. The flat is very warm and has all the requirements you need for a comfortable stay with easy secure free parking."

The location is excellent and the fact you have a self contained flat , more like staying at home with all the facilities you could need.

Only one minor complaint was that there was no Hi Fi or radio in the apartment.

the layout of having an appartment instead of justa hotel room

the shower was cold in the morning and we couldn't find where to boost the water

The location was stunning and the appearance of the rooms was excellent.

The fire doors! but inevitable I suppose. The route down to the quayside was a bit grotty.

  • 90% Older Couple

"The amenities were great. The provision of shower gel was an unexpected bonus! Tea, coffee etc. was well provided, as were the excellent shortbread bisuits. The bed was extremely comfortable and the lack of a view was more than compensated for by the lack of disturbing street noise. The apartment was very conveniently situated for walking to all the places we wanted to visit. The only thing we missed was the CD player and, presumably, radio. Perhaps we could have found radio stations on the TV if we'd looked hard nough, though!"

    Spacious and very clean

Bedside light was too low to make it comfortable to read in bed. There was a slightly odd smell in the apartment-not exactly unpleasant but pervasive.
