    "Veery good"

    Good sized room

Could have been informed that wash basin was in the bedroom and also as an elderly couple we were given a room on the top floor - no lift As there was snow we thought the steps outside the hotel should have been gritted

"First impression was that it would be noisy due to traffic but pleased to say that this was not the case."

Staff welcoming, helpful and polite and nothing was too much trouble.

Window sills inside the windows very mucky and around the bottom of the outside of the shower door was scruffy and dirty and skirtings required more attention, also the sink was cracked - I also admit that I am extremely fussy about cleanliness. A lot more could have been made of the garden area which needed weeding and was strewn with litter. Difficult to find available sockets e.g. for hairdryer.

"Room was compact, but relatively cheap. It had everything I needed for a short stay. Room was well presented and cleaned daily. Staff were always polite & very helpful. Hotel food was basic but adequate. Some communal areas stairways & hallways could do with a coat of paint to remove marks made by feet & suitcases. If travelling by car you can park free of charge using hotel free passes But ALL parking is on road. I had the impression that secure, off road parking was on offer, but it is not. You can walk into Nottingham city centre in about 15 minutes, but the excellent tram service is well worth using. An all day ticket costs £2.70 allowing you to roam where-ever, whenever you like for the day of purchase. The tram passe the front of the hotel, my room was along one side, so noise was not an issue for me."

Cheap & cheerful.Convenient for Nottingham city centre & tram.

Not appealing from the outside. Garden & outside decor of building in particular leave a lot to be desired.

    "A pleasant stay"

Pleasant decor. Clean and well equipped room. Good service and breakfast.

I experienced problems with the swip in card, used to access the buildings and my room.

"After a poor start, everything else was o.k. Infact the breakfasts were exceptional."

Hotel in easy walking distance to the town centre.

Room was not available til after 3pm. Therefore we had to re-arrange a meeting.Which caused upsets to our schedule.

"OK for a cheapish overnight stay - believe hotel trying to modernise itself but still in need of repair in some areas. Room was very small"

Nice, clean room - modernised. Tea/Coffee facilities good

Small room, although decor to a high standard - the walls and bathroom were in need of some upgrade/repair. Doors slamming nearby - very distracting.

"We have a good experience during staying at the hotel. If we are in Nottingham once again we will stay there and we can recomend it to everyone."

The hotel is in good location close to the city centre. All members of staff are very kind and helpful. Check-in and out quick and without any problems.

Our room was quite small and there is lack of space in a shower with toilet. It should be more pictures of the hotel on the website.

"Although the lady was on her own taking orders for the breakfast, cooking and serving, as well as clearing up, etc. she did a fantastic job at staying cheerful and helpful. Very professional. "

Very friendly staff, very helpful, both at the reception and at breakfast. Very comfortable bed and powerful shower. Original decoration throughout the hotel.

It looks like the refurbishment has been done a bit too quickly in some places: wires tangled up by the TV and video equipment in the bedroom. Skirting board not finished in the bathroom, showing a gap in the wall and letting cigarette smoke in at some point. The lack of staff at breakfast.

"A very comfortable room though I feel slightly overpriced for the facilities."

The breakfast was excellent petty that it as extra and not included in the price, of our package at least.

The main lights and a bed side lamp were not working when we arrived but one of the staff were quickly on hand to try to fix them. The main light was fixed but the bed side light was not.

"Very dissappointed, no way can this be called a 'luxury hotel'.Photos on line are VERY misleading. Were they taken by an estate agent?? The outside is run down, steps up from the street are unlit, and the gardens are overgrown.Decor of the public areas entrance halls, staircase etc. were very shabby, dirty carpets, scuffed walls and paintwork. WE WOULD MOST DEF.NOT STAY HERE AGAIN, NEITHER WOULD I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE! "

Staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good value for money.

Room, although billed as a double, was totally inadequate for two people, you couldn't swing the proverbial cat! No where to put anything in the en-suite-single shelf over the sink inadequate.

    "Excellent"

Very good hotel. Excellent service and a decent room since its been refurbished. Excellent staff service on arrival and on checkout.

Difficult to get to the hotel as it is not that well visible from the main road as it is covered by trees. Need a big sign on the outer walls to signify the location.

"This hotel is hard to quantify. It falls somewhere between B & B and a boutique hotel. They have made a big effort to do up this old building and have fallen a little short of their goal. I saw their list rate as £85. I would have been very annoyed had I paid this. The room was very small and the shower even smaller an overweight person would be in trouble. The decor in the room was pretty good. Couldn't get wireless internet in my room, v annoying! Staff were eager to please.I wouldn't stay again."

    Easy walk to town centre.

    Room small.

Lovely green surroundings close to city centre. Comfortable bed, lovely room. Friendly super-helpful staff who were able to assist with all my queries from local transport to emergency dental facilities. Nice breakfast and good selection of evening food available.

"A deceptively nice place. Once all the decorative work has been completed it will be a very stylish place to stay. "

The hotel is still undergoing some refurbishment but the areas that have been done have been maintained to a very modern and high standard and will be very nice once it is all completed.

A very small bathroom but the shower was powerful. The allocated outside smoking area did make it a little noisy at night.

The staff were very friendly and gave excellent recommendations on both local restaurants and tourist attractions. The location of the hotel was in a lovely area, a 5-10 minute walk from the city or a cheap taxi ride about £4

The room wasnt thought out very well, it was cramped and you couldnt plug the kettle in, the plug didnt reach the socket it was to high on the wall!

"I booked our accommodation several days in advance, I informed the hotelier that we were vegetarians; ample time to make some effort to buy veggie sausage etc. We were offered beans, egg, mushrooms and a half slice tomato, as where the other guests. We couldnt help but noticed they had sausage bacon and black pudding and to add insult to injury we payed the same price! Imagine if the meat eaters had been told there was no bacon or sausage but they still had to pay full price!!!"

The room itself was pleasantly decorated and clean. All fittings were obviously new. The location although out of the city centre was pleasant with some nice views.

The room was too small for 2 people. I love my husband to bits but there was no privacy and we were falling over eachother. The bathroom was rediculously small. I felt that it was over priced as compared to other locations and hotel accommodation where we have stayed in recent months.

Water pipes / tank adjacent or above our room and constantly gurgled throughout the night. Some parts of the hotel require modernisation dining room, bar and entrance area.
