"Very disappointed, restaurant food poor and fairly expensive. Room adequate but comfort of the bed was awful"
the matress on our bed was awful and probably the most uncomfortable one i have had the mis-fortune to sleep on. It was rather akin to a half filled water bed. The service in the bar area was very slow and there were several of the beers that were unavailable. We ate in the hotel restaurant on the first evening, and again the service was very slow. Our waitress apologised 3 or 4 times and felt obliged to offer us complimentary coffee at the end of the meal. My wife had to send her dessert back when she finally received it, as it was absolutely ruined. Needless to say we declined the offer of the coffee, paid our bill and retired to our room.

Retaurant/Bar personnel were really great!
Could I suggest that you add a gym? Also, hotel seems hard to find for drivers coming from London as the postal code does not show up on their GPS. When a person calls and asks for the street address, could I suggest you provide it in addition to the postal code?

"Good location for the surrounding area close to Southampton, plenty of attractions and things to do."
Excellent staff at the hotel felt very welcome especially to a lone female on business. Felt very safe within the hotel would definately stay at this hotel again if in the same location on business. Would even think of staying for a few days on holiday with husband.
Not many bad points on this hotel. The room I stayed in had a leak in the roof from rain.

"everything was fantastic "
Friendly staff and very good service They moved us without having to ask as we had a small baby with us and there was a Christmas party on witch was a nice touch. When they cleaned our room they layed out the babys bottles on a tea towel witch was another nice touch.

"Pleasant and comfortable. Staff are very attentive. Shower needs to be improved."
Shower is very awkward to operate, the tap get stuck and may have a safety issue, if water hot and can't turn it off. Also, would be easier to have the option of hand-held shower.

"Very pleasent surroundings, very nice hotel, very helpful staff. Overall an almost entirely positive experience and would recommend it."
Straight forward to find. Conveinent location from motorway but still pleasent surroundings. Surroundings in bar area and bar staff very impressive. Vegetarian english breakfast very good and very pleased there was a veggie option.
Main course from pub/restaurant was very slightly overdone/burned Vegetable tart. Nothing major and still enjoyable but not exceptional experience. Not a great wealth of vegetarian options on the restaurant menu.

"Restaurant is good, but over prices for star rating of hotel. Internet prices must always include breakfast .. always."
Internet much too expensive in rooms. Most Europe hotels do not charge for Internet at all. Then

"I'd be happy to stay there again providing the accounting for meals was sorted out."
Very attractive looking hotel with spacious rooms and a quiet location. A good choice of food with portions such that you know you have had a meal when leaving the dining room
Lighting in way of the parking area was poor. Inside the hotel there were numerous steps to negotiate which could be difficult for the disabled, and were awkward when carrying a heavy suitcase. There may be ramps for the disabled or for wheeling a suitcase, but I did not see them. Dinner on 2nd night was wholly accounted for as "Bar Bevarage" on the final bill which causes difficulties with some employers when seeking re-imbursement.

The restaruant has lovely feel & the food is very good
The rooms are a little out dated & my room was very noisey. I found it hard to sleep during the night & when I spoke to the gentleman at the reception he said it was the fans.

"I had a comfortable room, which was the important thing but I feel the chefs need to concentrate more on quality cooking and less on making the food look pretty."
The accommodation was very comfortable except that the shower had no visible controls and for an elderly person was difficult.
The restaurant left much to be desired. Service was poor at dinner and I didn't receive what I had ordered. This was rectified but the mistake shouldn't have happened because I made my needs perfectly clear and saw them written down. At breakfast my poached eggs were like bullets, too salty and being served on a tiny disc of toast was ridiculous. The tea and coffee were nearly cold.

Very convenient for visiting our relative. Reasonably priced. Good breakfast arrangements. Good sound-proofing dance-music from event downstairs not audible in our room.
Difficult to think of any.

Nice friendly staff. Good food, very pleasant rooms.
Only one - but a biggy! The shower barely worked. Very poor and an important item in any room.

"Very comfortable"
Excellent response from reception & bar staff. I arrived late because of long delay on M25 what's newand last food order time was past. A very adequate snack & wine was soon on the table.
Room was excellent but a used cup and waste left in the bin is why I rated only good

"Was very disappointed that there was no real welcome, nothing in the room to advise how to use facilities, etc - the phone had been unplugged because it kept ringing, the TV was a minefield - could be beleive you had to pay to listen to music!! Value for money - would have been good if b/fast had been included - it did state when I booked that breakfast to go was provided, no mention with regards to this from staff. B'fast expensive, went down the road and had a superb full english for half the cost. There were several private functions taking place - we enjoyed the entertainment from one in particular - which was lucky as hotel bar closed early and we got asked to move out."
comfy bed, warm room
lights kept going dim - which when a girl is trying to get ready is annoying!!

"The hotel manager responded well to our complaint about the housekeeping no room cleaning the first day, bed unmade etc.. The rooms seemed a little run-down, especially the bathrooms. The TV was limited to the five analogue channels which seems rather poor these days. Breakfast was the same every morning - rather boring after four nights stay! However, the hotel was generally comfortable, and, for us, the location was perfect."
Cosy hotel and courteous staff.
The first night the housekeeping staff forgot to clean our room. The second night there were no tea bags.

"We had accomodation to a standard accepted for the class of hotel. The breakfast included was fine and adequate in every way - since it was replenished freshly as a buffet regularly and was hot - yet offering a full range of items cooked and fresh as well as dietry acceptable for those with needs to take care!"
Comfortable, convenient, quiet and excellent for our purposes
Nothing particularly - but understand refurbishment is on going. From our personal point of view a more easily controlled and ajustable shower fitting for the sizes and circumstances of the occupants will be 'an improvement'.

"Excellent friendly and efficient staff, especially receptionist who was on duty Friday night and Saturday morning and our waitresses in the restaurant on both nights. Comfortable seating area in bar and restaurant, although upper level of restaurant could benefit from air conditioning being on. Excellent range of food and wines at reasonable prices."
Spacious, comfortable and well equipped.
One mattress was uncomfortable and in need of replacement. Showering facility was below current standards.

"Accommodation was good but the restaurant service was poor. Service was slow for the evening meal. My meal was good but my wife's lasagne was dry and hard going. Another guest found it equally hard going."
Good room, pleasant suroundings
Hair dryer not working. A bulb gone in one light. Not crucial but how do you monitor? The toaster would burn toast one side and not brown it on the other

"We like this hotel and have stayed here before. The staff are friendly and helpful. It is in a nice location with pleasant surroundings. The hotel is in the process of being refurbished and if they do as good a job on the rooms as they have in the bar/restaurant then it will be a pleasure to stay again."
Quite relaxing, quiet room, nice outlook from balcony.
Corners of room could do with extra vaccuming. A bit dark and needs updating.

"If you are visiting the New Forest, Hillier Gardens or National Trust properties this is a good base. As a 3 star hotel it gives good value and the service was personal and friendly. Room service is available from the dining room menu and it is not a restricted menu - better meal and service than I have experienced in 4 star hotels in the region and abonus for guests who are travelling alone."
Clean, comfortable hotel in middle of refurbishment but no disruption to service. Friendly staff, goood food, good value.

"On arriving the first thing you see is a picture postcard hotel, extremely inviting. The hotel is being refurbished and the result is excellant, The restaurant was beautiful and modern, and the food served to a la carte cuisine. We have enjoyed our short stay and will definatley be going back."
The rooms were very clean and spacious
Only the fact the shower did not function properly.
