food very high standard
a little austere

"Apart from the noisy room, most enjoyable. "
Cleanliness, most attractive setting and grand feel to design, very attractive room, food unexpectedly good excepting poor bread quality at breakfast.
Overall experience tarnished by intrusive noise form adjacent rooms, including late at night and in the morning, as nearby bathrooms used from 5.45am. Not at all in keeping with the rest of the experience.

"Very good"
The 2 bedrooms we used and the public rooms were very clean and well presented. The staff all seemed helpful and friendly.
Minor problem with automatic lights in bathroom which kept switching off - Reported to Reception in the morning and felt certain that they would deal with this problem.

Friendly staff, good value food / drinks in the bar area, good location. Hotel has a nice comfortable ambience and would stay again for 1 or 2 night break.

Bedroom very small, bathroom tiny with no bath and room had only a view of a white wall. This did not represent good value for money when comparing prices with other hotels in the area

"Having recently returned from a 3 week touring holiday in the USA the above is the only thing your hotel lacks in comparison. An overall excellent example of an English country hotel."
Beautiful place, clean and pleasant
TV too small would recommend flat screen larger TVs with cable access

"The hotel was in an excellent position, the bedroom with views was beautifully decorated. The leisure facilities gym, swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room were just the ticket after a days sightseeing. The buffet breakfast could not fail to satisfy the largest of appetites with a great selection, bar meals reasonably priced and the five course dinner in Carriages restaurant was wonderful."
From the booking process to our stay at the hotel everything was perfect.

"The Hotel was well located and easy to find. Good walking opportunities. It was our first visit to Grange Over Sands but hopefully we will return to the execellent facilties of the hotel. The food was very good at a price that you expect from hotels of this quality. The swimming pool was good and the overall experience of our short visit was relaxing and comfortable"
the room was very clean and had a taste of luxury

"The hotel is in a great location with excellent on site facilities. The opening hours of the pool were user friendly - able to have a swim before breakfast which is often not possible. The bedroom and bathroom were the height of luxury - we thoroughly enjoyed sitting in the bath together sipping champgne and eating hand made chocolate bought locally."
Stayed for the start of a honeymoon and the hotel exceeded all expectations. The room was large and comfortable with an outstanding bathroom. Made good use of the on-site leisure facilities - a great bonus after walking in the rain. The bar and restaurant were superb. Would recommend this to any couple looking to treat themselves to luxury.

"Beautifully appointed room.Toiletries/hairdryer/tea & coffee facilities.Small wardrobe, limited space to put things.lovely view of garden & country.Restaurant very nice but bit overpriced for quality of food. I was looking for a lovely retreat for a Romantic Valentines Evening with my partner, well I cerainly found it with this Hotel, from the moment we arrived I knew we had chosen the right place, the staff were so friendly and helpful, the food were excellent. What topped it all was being given a room with a four poster bed So romantic - Thank You
