"Lovely place! Should really have taken more time, as there are so many "in house" facilities. Our son really loved the pool, almost had to bribe him to get him out!"

Very helpful staff, really decent people - Maybe that's just Newcastle for you! We turned up with an un-expected 9 year old, but were still easily accommodated. Also very helpful in organising breakfast at an unearthly hour of the morning, enabling us to get up & away in time for a ridiculously early start!

Room was a few hours late getting ready 6-ish, as opposed to 3.00pm, but did have a really nice place to wait - with stunning river views!

"We had a very enjoyable stay and look forward to a return visit in the near future."

All staff encountered were friendly and very informative. The bar and restaurant offered good food and drink and the room was spacious and well equipped. We both made use of the lovely leisure facilities.

I'd used the hotel gym in the late afternoon but on return to my room it was only just being cleaned around 5 o clock and so I had to wait to use the shower. This was inconvenient as I was in a hurry to go out.

"OK, too expensive, not enough facility to have meals or snacks."

Good location, parking facility, comfortable rooms.

Had to waite 50 minutes for sandwitches at the bar. Had to remind the staff we are waiting for lunch, which was after 3pm and we were very hungry. So next morning didn't bother to have breakfast from the bar had to waite too long.

although I had a booking confirmation, the hotel had no record of my booking. I therfor had difficulty getting a room.when i was told someone would ring me the following day to explain what had caused the problem,no one bothered ringing me.When i tried personally ringing the phone no. on the internet booking confirmation I could not get anyone to answer. what a shambles ,very dissappointing!

"Staff excellent, especially restaurant and concierge - very helpful and friendly."

Rooms bright, reception area large, airy and friendly

Quite dusty in places i.e. pictures, light switches etc.

"Ok if you are going for night life. Night clubs below rooms meant very little sleep until at least 3.30am Would not reccommend eating in for either dinner or breakfast food is a la Brake brothers not freshly made, and over all poor value for money because of this. Hotel charges you for parking!"

    clean

lumpy pillows, parking charge for hotel car park. disorganised restaurant staff meant despite pre booking we still had to wait over 30 mins to be seated as the hostess had forgot about us and we had to prompt her.

Location good for the Sage. Useful to have parking facility, which was surprisingly cheap for a city centre.

The air conditioning was a bit noisy, but OK once you get used to it. Lighting in the room was a bit subdued.

"Pleasurable stay with a lovely view of the quayside. Food was enjoyable and to a good standard. Lesuire facilities were pleasant but felt prices were a little steep. Only slight negative would be the length of time we waited to be served at the bar due to mimmum staffing, however, staff were very apologetic regarding our wait."

"overall we had a really enjoyable stay, it would of been better if we were in a room with a view over the quayside, that would of completed it all for us!!!"

plenty pillows in the bed and plenty tbags milk etc which made a nice change. the iron and board was great to.

the view, being at the back of the hotel we had a terrible view of the roof. it was my partners first time in newcastle and a view of the quayside would of made a difference to his stay.

"I would have liked to have had the opportunity to book a room overlooking the Tyne towards the Sage/Baltic."

Size of room, layout of room and space for luggage.

Minibar contained previous guest's out of date sandwich, baby food and half used bottle of wine. All of this caused a terrible smell in the minibar fridge.

"Good. Nice clean hotel, good location for nightlife, nice bar. Although the price to stay per night was very expensive considering this did not include breakfast."

    Cleanliness and location.

A nightmare to find this hotel when travelling by car, it is not signposted.
