Noise from boiler room opposite woke me at 7.15 Sunday morning. Lights went out for 1hour at the function 8.45-9.45 PM, a little worrying for a hotel. Two spare kettles and one spare TV left in room, Why was online price cheaper than agreed "reduced" rate for function guests?

"Whilst the upgraded room was good, the concern caused by our entry to the room initially allocated was not a good start to our stay. These things happen and we have no real problems in that regard except to say that the reception staff were not aware that the first room was under decoration which shows a lack of management co-ordination somewhere along the line. However we are unlikely to choose this hotel again unless someone is able to assure us that the breakfast provision has been significantly upgraded. [It was that bad!]"

The upgraded room to which we were transferred when we explained that the allocated room was under decoration was good.

We were originally allocated a room which was under decoration. The breakfast was the poorest we have experienced in a long time. The fried/hot items were cool at best and cold at worst. The heated containers did not have lids available for users to close once they had taken their item. The bacon was aneamic in appearance and tasteless [and cold]. The fruit was dry and looked as though it had been removed from the cans some days before. The staff seemed to work hard but without co-ordination. Cutlery was not available except through the staff who, when they were able to find time, had to collect it from the kitchen. There were other small issues but you may get the gist from the aforementioned comments.

Good point are very pleasant staff. Room clean and tidy superb parking very nice location would love to stay there of another Best Western again.

The room was too hot the bathroom radiator was on full and heated the sleeping area quite unbearable never complained that night it was too late but made reception staff know that morning Sat.

In need of decoration. Kettle was in static position in cupboard under the TV, awkward to use and steam discoloured the unit.

"In general I would have reviewed this hotel as perfectly pleasant in terms of general comfort, cleanliness and hospitality. However, as I commented above, the room was cold which is significant on a wet night in February and the water was not hot enough to take a shower. At the time of checking out I was asked by the person on reception if everything had been satisfactory. I did say that the room was cold and the water was not hot enough to take a shower. When I mentioned this, the receptionist did say she was sorry more than once but did not offer to compensate for our discomfort by discounting our bill. Sympathetic words do not indicate real intention of wanting to offer good service."

Easy to get to. Pleasant setting. Quiet.

The central heating in our room was either not working properly or was inadequate. The room was cold and therefore was not very comfortable to come into after an evening out or to get up to in the morning.The water was not hot enough to take a shower which was not a good start to the day.

We had to make a complaint about the room as we were placed next to the boiler room the boiler continously hums loudly and it made sleeping unpleasant. I suggest this gets attended too I would definitly not sleep in this room again.

"Hotel situated in nice countryside,would love to try out restaurant after refurb as bar food was so good. Hotel was clean and staff polite, breakfast was also very good.Would have liked to know about the wedding party before as this would certainly have had a bearing on whether we booked or not."

The room was clean and very pleasant,food was excellent and the staff very nice.

The accommodation itself was good,however the extremely rowdy wedding party guests did spoil what was an anniversary treat for us.

"See above, very inefficient when it comes to cover at night, tried ringing from 11.15 to say we were delayed in traffic, but phones not answered, then place locked up and no one answering the door at 12.30, told bells dont work. Answer to next question would recommend the place as a good place to stay, ie rooms etc, but wouldnt want to recommend it to anyone in case they experienced the same thing as us on arrival."

Motorway closed so late in arriving, no phone answered from 11.15pm, then on arrival at 12.30, no answer both bells not working. spotted someone in bar through window just as we were leaving to find someone else. We were told the phone hadnt been put through to where he was, and the door bells dont work, after a very long and tiring journey this was not a good start to our stay.

Clean, comfortable bed. lovely bathroom with a good shower.

Room a bit small but fine for an overnight stay.

"Das Zimmer war angenehm und alles hat gut funktioniert. Das Bad war schön modern und sauber. Das Hotel liegt etwas abseits aber man braucht nur eine gute Strassenkarte um überall gut hinzufahren. Das Essen in der Bar sowohl als im Restaurant war gut."
