"We attended this Hotel for Valentines Night, the meal was wonderful and the restaurant relaxed. The restaurant staff were fantastic and we I would book again for a special occasion."
It was a relaxed, friendly, away from it all location
The room was lovely but there wasnt a view which was disappointing

"Check in time was comparatively late by most hotels standards at 3pm. This shouldn't have been a problem ut after arriving at 3pm after many hours driving we were told to sit down and wait as the room wasn't ready. By 3.15pm we asked again but the surly receptionist barely shrugged her shoulders and muttered i've no idea I'll let you know when it's ready. By 3.30pm I'd had enough and found the Duty Manager. He allocated us another equivalent room - so all the time we'd been made to wait rooms were available. The next morning we used the leisure facilities around 8.30 am. Not particularly early oopens 7am I believe but apparantly too early for housekeeping. Not a towel in the complex! although the attendant did manage to find some later in the hotel and bring them into the pool area. The steam room was laden with crushed plastic cups - obviously from the day before and hence uncleaned. A leisure / spa complex this hotel isn't!"
Rooms were well furnished
Early morning use of leisure facilities hindered by lack of any cleaning undertaken.

"Pool, sauna and steamroom excellent. All staff excellent. Restaurant extremely disappointing - little expertise, overcooked, expensive for quality presented. Rowton Hall is not a genuine 4-star. It's main purpose is to act as a function venue e.g.weddings. If you stay stipulate not to be put in a room facing the inner courtyard"
Room 41. Comfortable. Bathroom cleanliness excellent. Bathrobes
Room 41. Cramped. Stained wrinkled carpet. Curtains need cleaning. Noisy environment

"We enjoyed our stay at Rowton Hall, it is in a beautiful location very close to the city but in a quiet area off the main roads. We only stayed for one night but had time to use the pool, jacuzzi and steam room. All of these were free and were pleasant areas to enjoy. We didn't eat in the hotel, there are cheaper restaurants/pubs in the area. The room was nicely decorated with everything you would expect of this type of hotel. There were also some nice extras such as bottled water, bathrobes and a TV in the bathroom. The room we stayed in was on the smaller side but had everything we wanted for our stay. the staff were friendly and helpful. We would definitely visit this hotel again to enjoy all of its facilties such as the gardens and spa."
The room was nicely furnished with some good extras such as bottled water and a TV in the bathroom.
The room could have been a little bigger, the bathroom was a good size but the room was relatively small.

"Beautiful hotel with real character, gardens, pool and gym. Staff were friendly, helpful and courteous. Ideal place to stay for visit to Chester. Whilst the hotel building is old and has many character features, the bedrooms are fresh, modern and clean."
High quality accommodation, beautiful surroundings, close to Chester, friendly staff, quite, nice character to buiding not a bland, souless commercial hotel
Poor signage in the hotel i.e way to the pool/gym, which way room numbers go
