"Great."

Location was excellent.

We found that the food was very good, and the reception/bar/lounge area was very nice and modern with a lovely rest area downstairs with open fire and comfy chairs.

We felt the standard of the room did not match that of the rest of the hotel, it semed a little shabby in comparison, we were also dissapointed that when we ordered room service trays were not collected till after ten am the next day. Gym facilities were a little basic and poorly laid out and no swimming pool.

The entrance, dining room and bar have had a pleasant "make-over".The breakfast service and food quality was good. room was old but large and the quipment functioned Ok.

Good comfortable and quiet room,surprisingly large. Bed was also a reasonable size. Particularly liked the bathroom.

NO NEWSPAPER DELIVERED TO ROOM On checking in on the Saturday, the form handed to me by the reception lady asked me amongst other things to specify if I wanted a newspaper and if so, which one. But we never got it. Later that morning Sunday another hotel receptionist advised us that the "newsagents had proved to be unreliable so they had stopped providing newspapers" NO ENGLISH BREAKFAST ARRAGH!!!!! This was a great disappointment, as the only time I ever eat a full English breakfast is when we are on holiday or staying in a hotel. While I appreciate that ACCOR is a French owned company, surely it should be prepared to offer 'Les Rosbifs' the chance to eat their own food? Thus, not only did I not have a Sunday Newspaper to read at my breakfast table, I was deprived of a Englishman's breakfast as well. In my opinion, that is poor marketing, as I am prepared to spend a great deal more for an English breakfast than on the miserable apology for a meal that is called "Continental breakfast"

Room and bathroom very clean and well maintained,It was warm and cosy with a large flat screen tv. The hotel was very quiet and I had a very comfortable stay. I would recommend The Glendower to family and friends, I would certainly use this hotel again. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

The staff were very friendly making us feel very welcome from the moment we entered the reception till it was time to leave. The food was good value for money and the service very prompt. The facilities in the hotel were excellent.

none really , room was a bit on the small side , but having said that it was clean, only 1 towel, bit mean on the tea bags

Service and atmposphere in the bar was good, and the food in the restaurant was excellent.

Poor bed linen itchy blanket and tatty cover. No complimentary toiletries in bathroom. Old creaky bed that kept us awake all night.

Restaurant and quality of the evening meal

The cooked breakfast was very poor, compared with the quality of the evening meal. We were woken at 2:30am by noisy guests at the front of the building. The noise continued for 45 minutes with no intervention from the hotel staff.

"Excellent value for money. Good choice at breakfast.Spacious lounge areas on ground floor. Unfortunately, as we checked in late, we were unable to sample the dinner menu as the restaurant closed at 9pm but the staff did offer us sandwiches as an alternative. Pleasant efficient staff."

Clean , basic room. Comfortable bed with extra pillows if needed.Ensuite was adequate for our needs

Room was very warm even on a winter's night and we were unable to open the window as an overflow pipe outside our window gushed water all night. Bedroom overlooked a brick wall at the rear of the hotel

The clean appearance, and the friendly attitude of the staff.

"Would have preferred a bath as opposed to just a shower but will ask for that specifically another time. Could hear music from dining room below early in the morning, didn't mind too much but others may have found it annoying. Staff helpful, breakfast fantastic, car parking very convenient and overall I would say this is a good hotel to stay in and good value for money."

Spacious but cosy and well appointed room. Comfortable bed and nice hot shower. Good selection of tea, coffe and biscuits provided.

Had to wait about 20 minutes as room wasn't ready for us at 2.00 pm as advised.Some information in the hotel room folder was incorrect e.g. time of breakfast.

"The hotel looked good from the outside and was in a good location. We didn't have far to walk to the pier, promenade and shops etc. Our room was modern and clean, slightly small but perfectly adequate for us. Staff were friendly and efficient"

"I was very disappointed to find that on the evening of our stay the hotel was holding a wedding reception which continued late into the night. I would have been grateful if staff or the online booking would of informed me of this noise or simply situated us away from the noise. I could not get to sleep because of the loud music below my room and found it very rude to not be told by hotel staff of this. Overall though i enjoyed my stay and would stay again."

the room was very modern and stylish, and had a homely feel. Yet the hotel itself was elegant and respectable.

"Fairly traditional seaside hotel. Nice location and easy parking with direct access to beach opposite. Room comfortable and well equipped, including wifi. Friendly staff. Food only available for limited hours except sandwiches via room service with additional charge - bar snacks ceased at 2045, full dinner service even earlier."

"Good friendly staff - request for a fan for our very hot room was soon brought to room. Perhaps would ask that business guests are requested not to use their mobile phones for the whole time of our breakfast - we were trying to have a relaxing day away from the office. Window not opening adequately made our stay uncomfortable."

what a pity there was restrictive opening of the window on such a hot night. Tried to charge for 2 phone calls we hadn't made.

"Apart from some dodgy equipment see above, the room was spacious & clean we did book a superior seaview room. Staff were friendly. The breakfast room was nicely decorated and offered a good choice of food. Overall the hotel was pleasant & I would stay there again."

On the seafront, quiet, clean, helpful staff in the main.

No porter to help with bags I am 7 months pregnant & had a toddler in tow. Some of the equipment in the room was a bit dodgy; the radiator was extremely hot - a burn hazard for a small child - & the hairdryer had seen better days.

Efficient staff; good location.

The room was exremely small - the hotel has very large rooms at the front and very small rooms at the back. Probably the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in! Bathroom fan did not work, and when we booked in there were only towels for one person. They seem to have a lot of - noisy - functions there too, although the one on Saturday night finished around 12.30am, so not too bad. Reception staff rather intimidating.
