"Had a wondeful time, York was very interesting and the location of the B&B to downtown was excellent."

The Manager was a fantastic host, from the moment we arrived until we left. Very friendly and so helpful with any of our enquiries. He spent time with us upon our arrival and reviewed a map of York and all the places of interest that were available to be seen. The facilities were very clean and the laundry was first class with big fluffy towels, rooms serviced daily and the beds changed completely on the 3rd day. Food wonderful and served with a smile and a cheery good morning. Can't say enough good things about The Romley House and its Owner.

"What a find, this Bruce is one hell of a guy, we got in to the B & B at about 18h, he met us at the door with a real huge freindly welcome. Then, when we asked,he gave us a map of York, all the good things to see, sent us on our way saying not to worry about being back late... Everything was perfect, we even took a photo of Bruce before leaving because he really made our stay just that bit special. I highly recommend this B&B, and maybe, if you're lucky, Bruce will make you Alascan Waffles after your full English Breakfast !! Great place, great guy, great town"

Great welcome, good, quick information. Excellent breakfast. Good clean quality room.

"Fantastic owner who made you feel right at home. I felt like I had known him for years. You can't lose with this B&B. He was there to answer questions and offer assistance. He went above and beyond expectations to help us to verify a future accommodation in another city. The location was within walking distance of the train station and downtown. A must-visit B&B Try the Alaskan waffles!"

Owner was extremely personable and offered much help with sites to see, locations of specialty shops, etc. Very clean and lovely B&B.

Our room with twin beds had little room to move around.

"I enjoyed my stay in the hotel it was very comfortable and easy to get to. The hotel was in a good place for the town and the station. The room was very comfortable and I slept very well. We had one of the two en-suite rooms and these were at the top of the house and stairs are a problem for me. Whilst having a conversation with the owner he assured us the other rooms are going to be adapted. I would certainly reccomend to stay here and will be returning again later in the year."

The friendly welcolme was lovely you felt right at home. I would reccomend the breakfasts the waffles are to die for.

Having to go up more stairs as i have problems but this is something that will improve by the owner

The breakfast was excellent and the host makes a wonderful cup of tea!

The room was a little cramped, but that's not too important as you only sleep there. There is a lounge for guests and it was nice to be able to talk to our host and not be strangers.

"This is the best b&b I have every stayed in and I travel a lot. Bruce is really friendly and is full of life - I have never known anyone with such a sense of fun. Nothing was too much trouble and being introduced to Alaskan Waffles for breakfast was excellent even if I will have to do twice the gym work now. If you need to stay in York stay here. I have recommended the place to several friends it is also situated close to the town and rail station and is very reasonably priced for York and the service."

This b&b has everything from good tea and coffee facilities to little extras like a bottle of mineral water and a packet of tissues. The room was very clean and comfortable.

"On arrival we were greeted by the friendliest guy with the biggest welcoming smile. He was informative and very enthusiastic. He presented us with a map with directions and key points that he thought we might enjoy. He informed of his breakfast times but then said we could have it earlier...or later, the choice was ours. When we descended on him the next morning he presented us with the option of coffee or tea, there was fruit juice and fresh fruit available on the side and cereals. he then presented us with another 3 options, full english breakfast, vegetarian breakfast or homemade fresh waffles. I have to say I made the choice of full english and waffles. It arrived within minutes and was absolutely delicious. I fully recommend this hotel and have already set a decision to return with our friends to this hotel. York is a fantastic place with its cobbled streets, restaurants, bars, and all the attractions it has to offer. York dungeon was one of the many high points which is definately a 'must' and well worth the entrance fee but be prepared to be thrilled. We also did a ghost walk which we will certainly do again on our next stay...."

Fantastic host, Really good food and close to the city centre.

"Although this is a well run guest house with excellent service i probabely wouldn't book to go back there. The reason for this decision is because i purposefully booked an en-suite room and had i known that the room was going to be in the attic with a low roof space i would have cancelled it. The room felt very cramped and claustrophobic."

    friendly atmosphere

room was a little on the small size

"Did get a tad lost on the walk to the station seemed rude to ask them to pick me up!, but soon got there OK. Lovely room, lovely staff, was grateful to have a cup of tea and have a lie down watching TV after an exhausting day! Breakfast was fantastic. Being given lots of good tourism information was excellent and informative. Unfortunately I had to turn down a lot of the stuff suggested but next time I get a chance I'll do it! All in all, an excellent last-minute well, night before booking. Extremely glad I chose it for my stay, will definately book there next time!"

Being given a twin room vice single, that was very nice! Very clean, in a good part of York, very friendly staff, lovely breakfast, couldn't ask for much more! Being offered a pick-up from York station was great, the local tourism information I received from the owner was very useful and most appreciated.
