"A very grand hotel from the outside , it proved to be so inside too.The Hotel was served by one lift.As a wheelchair user I was pleased to see most of the communal ares were easy to get around. You do have to enter the Hotel from the car park at the rear. However the rooms we had had a very narrow bathroom so I would recommend asking for an wheelchair friendly one when booking if this would prove easier.Overall the Hotel was clean and tidy. We only ate breakfast here, which was buffet style and of fair quality. The food in the Resteraunt seemd good value for money but I cannot comment on its quality. We had one drink at the bar, which was reasonably priced, and the staff were pleasant and efficient."

The huge room and overall cleanliness of the hotel.

The very narrow bathroom which was inacessable for a wheelchair, however we were offered a walk in shower , which I guess was a 'disabled room'

"A very imposing building and day rooms. The breakfast was excellent considering it was buffet style, great fresh juices and fruit, hot food in good condition. Worth staying there just for the breakfast alone."

Huge rooms, plenty of space and clean

"No separate business facilities. No Free Internet Broadband. A pay Hot Spot was available in the lobby and worked well, if you can put up with the smokers Public smoking won't be banned until July 2007. The shower is very small, hard to get into and impossible to bend down in and there was no shower caddy! If you drop anything you have to get out of the shower to pick it up. The water pressure in the shower was excellent and invigorating. Overall the en suite was clean and modern. Food was excellent. A full English breakfast included. All of the staff we encountered were helpful, courteous and friendly. The room was large and quiet and the beds were comfortable. A short walk to the town center and theaters. Good local restaurants. Overall a lovely place to stay and get away."

Friendly helpful staff. Good modern en suite facilities. Quiet large room and comfortable bed.

Lack of Free Internet Broadband. Uncomfortable chairs in room. Shower very small Limited TV channels - no 24hr News.

"We enjoyed our brief stay overall. Staff were polite and helpful. Breakfasts were very good. Evening meals were for us rather too expensive, so we ate out in restaurants plenty of them nearby . Car park was only just big enough, but we always managed to find a space for our car."

Size of room and sea view aspect. Clean. Comfortable beds.

Some noisy people upstairs one night complaint made to reception and a fair degree of traffic noise at night from Grand Parade.

"The staff where very friendly and helpful. The service and the food in the dining room was first class. We stayed over for the new year, the brunch that was served that day was excellent, also it made it special as we were served bucks fizz on entering the dining room. The 3 night break we had at the Cavendish was good value for money,we would almost definetly like to come back in the future."

The room was clean and comfortable, the en-suite was nice. Overall the accmodation was of a high standard.

"There was a wedding party in the hotel during our weekend which meant the main returant was out of use during the saturday evening. It also meant that there were a number of children running about the corridors and playing in the lift, apparently unchecked."

    SEafront location

There appaered to be no access to radio on the TV in the room.

"It would have been nice to know that eating in the dinning room is formal and requires a dinner jacket. The picture on the web-site was mis-leading. It showed the hotel in a secluded environment with no buildings surrounding it. Having no hot water for a shower is not acceptable. Neither I nor my co-workers who were staying in the hotel had hot water at 7:00 am. This problem needs to be fixed."

It was close to the ocean, shopping and restaurants.

There was no hot water for a morning shower! The room was warm an no fan was provided. Pillows were flat and as a result I woke with a headache.
