"Not one I would wish to do again. "

    appeared to be helpfull

Room was cold, with window wide open. Heater in room no working. Reported fault, although said was being repaired, not whilst I was there. There was a small convector heater, which I left on, only to find switched off, upon my return from visiting my Mother, therefore room was still cold. Only one sheet and blanket, no duvett or access to extra blankets. Continental breakfast consisted of fruit, cereals and toast in my experiance a little lacking in the continental department

"It served a purpose. My main complaint was that i was cold due to insufficient bedding. It is Autumn and derbyshire one expects a few blankets or a quilt"

    Dining staff - prompt service

The bed was made up for summer with only a sheet on i had to put the blanket on it. Two lights did not work in the bathroom.

"For what we paid it was satisfactory."

Professional Welcome but we'd waited so long to get inside the room in reception.

I was told that the room which he was given was not the best. I rec'd a call when my client arrived because my card was needed to check in! He was unable to check in withour me, this was very poor and does no reflect the imagine I was looking for.

"A pleasant weekend and the pleasant attitude of all the staff at the hotel made up for the tattered aspect of the hotel."

The staff were extremely willing and helpful. The food was very good both at breakfast & dinner. Overall reasonable value for the money.

The fabric of the hotel was basically scruffy. It needed a make-over particularly in reception. The TV remote did not work needed new batteries in our room or our friend's room on arrival. The price at the bar for gin and tonic -£4 was ridiculous.

    "Good attractions in area."

Everything very good except for item below.

Room 249 was far too warm, had to leave windows and curtains open all night, which meant the room was noisy and too light.

"Was adequate accomodation. Would have been very upset if I had paid the tariff shown behind the check-in desk!"

Staff were mainly very helpful. Good location.

Room was in need of redecoration. Equipment tv / radio etc was very out of date. Capital investment is needed at this hotel. Bar prices are over the top given the surroundings and ambience.

"OK but nothing to enthuse over."

Friendly & efficient receptionist. Clean room and hotel. Excellent restaurant service in the evening.

Check in 1pm & told room availabe from 2pm. Sat waiting until 3 pm! Service: coffee bar/bar had to search for someone to serve each time used, even though staff chatting in Reception area! SINGLE ROOM SUPPLEMENT - WHY, WHEN IT IS A SMALL ROOM WHICH CAN ONLY ACCOMMODATE A SINGLE BED? IF IT WAS A TWIN/DOUBLE SOLD AS A SINGLE, UNDERSTANDABLE, BUT IT IS VERY ANNOYING TO BE CHARGED EXTRAi!!! I know this is standard proceedure in most hotels but can't you "break the mould" and stop this practice?

"Hotel generally reasonable in price bracket but structure shows its age."

Food good quality, bathroom bright and shiny, reception efficient and helpful

Bedroom gloomy, television reception poor, telephone not connected inspite of reporting. Lift just about acceptable being small and slow. Staff in dining room gave the impression of doing us a favour, serviette on request and on the first morning sausages ran out before 8-30! A pep talk needed on the catering side

"apert from the car parking the stay was acceptable"

well placed for shopping and activities. clean room

did,nt like the car park, open to the general public re sports centre. I carry lots of tools and equipment on board the car and I was not at ease that the car would be safe in the car park. also difficult to park at times.

The staff were very helpful and friendly. The policy to allow a dog to stay with us was a good point. The room was clean and well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities. Plenty of hot water for showers in a nice bathroom.

"We booked a two night stay for a double room for new years eve and new years day but when we arrived there was no double bedrooms available despite the fact that it was booked months in advance. The receptionist wasn't very understanding and didn't seem to know how the internet booking worked. After a fisrt rough nights sleep we asked to be changed to a double for the second night if possible. Our second room was amazing compared to the first one, it was well kept and looked recently refurbished. If we were to stay again I would ask for the second room as the first one was a disappointment."

Food was amazing. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Swimming pool was really nice to relax in. Jacuzzi and sauna were also amazing. Swimming facilities are free of charge.

Room looked very unkept. Toilet didn't flush properly. TV had no reception. Had to push twin beds together-not comfortable.
