"Will definately stay again"

the overall service and cheerfulness of the staff was beyond excellent.We had smiles and v.good service for the short time we were there and will be using the hotel again.

Very friendly staff ,above average room size and really warm , superkingsized bed ! , Spacious bathroom . Inn had real character - beams ,logfires etc . Truky excellent breakfast choices . Lunch / evening menu looked v.good value for money .

Bar area not big enough - we couldn't find a seat to have a drink earlier on in the night. The log fires weren't lit - one of the main reasons we chose this pub. Food a little expensive.

Arrived at 1am and had no problems with checking-in. Very friendly and very quick - which is just what you need at that time of morning!

A spacious and very clean room. The staff were very polite and helpful.

The TV remote was missing and the manual control panel had been broken off for some time. Clearly the hotel had no intention of fixing it.

The beds were the most comfortable experienced in any hotel. Access to M1. Attentive staff. Ample parking.

Mildew around the bath tiles and a malfunctioning hot tap. Sounds a lot worse than it was but the fact is it was there. Apart from that the accomodation was very clean.

The pillows were too thin. The shower was awkward to control at the correct temperature.

"The hotel is in a great place. The village is quiet and is not too far from the local attractions. Very easy to find. The dinner at the pub is good value and is worth going for. Its best to book a table when you get there though. Great hotel."

Great friendly staff. The rooms were just the right size with modern bathroom.

The bedroom radiator was a bit cold. Took the whole night to warm the room up.

"it is always difficult finding the right hotel from 200 miles away!! We were sceptical at booking time, but thought it good value for money esp with your discount!! Considering the pub/hotel is now owned recently I would think, as they were not in the directory by Greene King, the Abbot Ale and IPA were AWFUL I drink both regularly in my local pub, even taking into account the need for Northernising the beer. Quite the worst Greene King I have ever drunk!! The brewers need to educate the staff on keeping their beer properly."

Breakfast Service - one staff member only - had to wait for a tabke to be laid-up - overall it was 30-35 minutes wait to receive breakfast

"Bedrooms were large, clean and well equipped with hairdryer, trouser press, tea and coffee making facilities. Bathroom had large fluffy towels. Staff were cheerful, very helpful and friendly. Food was excellent both for the evening meal and breakfast. Would definitely stay there again."

I think the prices for food were a little expensive and didnt feel they catered for children all that well.
