position of hotel ideal for shopping and sightseeing.staff very pleasant and helpful.bars and restaurants within walking distance.
only bad point was we were allocated a room facing onto main road and it was noisy during the night.Also suggest either reduce size of mugs on tea tray or increase milk and hot drink allocation.

Staff were very helpfull, especially as they were locals, so their knowledge of the area was great. They were also very good to quickly replace things which ran out. Probably the friendliest staff i have ever come across.
No fridge in rooms.

"glad we booked this hotel, very close to the trainstation so location great."
staff very friendly & helpful, and kept hold of our bags so we could go out and enjoy our second day before going home, excellent continental breakfast with great choice. location only a ten minute bus journey straight to the metro centre or 5 minute walk to more local centres. thought it was a great idea that the room card was required for the lifts and stairs.

"Friendly, helpful hotel staff, great city centre location"
Overall a very positive experince with your hotel. The staff in particular really made our stay very pleasant - they were friendly, knowlegable and very helpful - both at reception and bar staff.
It would have been nice if there were bar food available but as there were so may eating places nearby, this really did not in any way take away from what was in general a very enjoyable stay.

being woken in the night by staff emptying glass bottle bins, housekeeping waking us for a 1-night stay, & directions to the multistory they recommend on arrival would be helpful on the website - the one way system made it hard to find!

Great attitude by the guy in charge on Saturday night to change a sofa bed that was broken.He was as annoyed as us!All other staff where very good too though.
Sofa bed should have been sorted out mid - afternoon.We initially told one of the cleaning staff.Then having seen that it had not been dealt with on our return to the room,the reception were informed.We asked them to do it after we went out at 7.30pm.It wasn't.

The hotel was really busy and full of groups of young people, however the staff remained pleasant and calm at all times. The hotel itself is in an excellent location and was spotlessly clean.

"We were a group of 11 girls of mixed ages. We would recomend this hotel, it was very central, walking distance to the nightlife. The hotel had a very friendly atmosphere to it and it was full of groups of people but a lot of fun. Even though people were having a few drinks etc. in the bar till the wee small hours I still managed to sleep with no problems at all. Overall we had a great time and would go back tomorrow!"
The hotel looked new and modern, it was very clean and the staff were very pleasant and friendly. We had a great night in the bar after we came back from the town centre! Overall we had a fantastic time and would stay again.
The only thing that I didn't like was the breakfast. I was expecting some cooked food but it was only cereal and toast etc. so that was a slightly disappointing although some people may still be happy with that. They did have croissants & yogurts and things too.

"Good value, have stayed in a few express inns and newcastle one is particularly conveniently situated in the city centre. Nice staff and a bright and modern hotel. However, having stayed in very many hotels we miss room service for the hunger pangs late at night. Snacks would be welcome at a reasonable cost because most hotels are over charging for what you get. Drinks bit expensive too but generally a good hotel and will stay again."
Bright and modern with everything we needed. Breakfast is great, good choice and fresh and so leisurely to sit and read the paper.
Have stayed twice in express by holiday inn and both times been woken by cleaner asking when we are leaving. Although bathroom had been cleaned there were quite a lot of hairs on the floor and side of shower.

"We had only one problem, finding the hotel. On the site the directions told us it was on the other side of the street of the centre of Life, they only forgot to change that direction when they build another building in front of the hotel, But luckily we found it soon. actually by accidant. But the hotel is very nice and it is nice that you can get so many things."
